@ShagFred

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

Patrick Pichette — the guy who proposed this $500k “exit fee” — left Canada years ago, became Google’s CFO, made over $100 million, was on Twitter’s board until Elon fired him when he took it over, and now lives in luxury in London, England. He used Canada’s subsidized education and mobility to climb the ladder… then wants to pull it up behind him and trap young Canadians here. Mark Carney did the exact same thing (11 years in the UK). This isn’t about “repaying education costs.” It’s elite hypocrisy and Soviet-style control. Canada is becoming a roach motel for talent. Repost if you’re done watching them lock the door.
Eric St-Pierre@EricRStPierre

The Liberals just proposed a $500,000 “exit fee” at their 2026 convention — pay up or stay trapped if you want to work in the U.S. on a TN visa. This is exactly what the Soviet Union did: build walls, issue exit visas, and punish anyone trying to leave for a better life. Canada subsidizes your education → then locks you in like a prison camp so you can’t take your skills south. Same authoritarian playbook. Different century. Watch this clip from their own convention. 👇

@Prominent_Bryan There’s no way they could walk away from a win. Frankly, he would have my vote for leader if he was in the mix.

From what I have heard at the Vancouver Real Estate Forum, BC will soon be getting funding from the federal government to cut development charges, similar to Ontario. #vanRE

@mattgurney Unfortunately, I can’t name a media member that’s called out their profession for creating a political environment with zero accountability for the LPC.

I’m willing to support the B.C. Conservatives no matter who the leader is for the next election simply because of the importance of having a conservative premier in B.C. But Milobar seriously needs to reconsider his reconciliation act idea. That B.C. Liberal nonsense is what pushed this province into the hands of the left.

The Canucks should just keep Elias Petterson. Even if he doesn’t ever get back to what he was, he’s still a serviceable 2-way NHL center with scoring upside at his worst, and 11.6 for that might be close to the going rate in a couple of years. To get a decent return you probably have to retain salary, so why not just overpay him while the team is going nowhere instead? It’s the smartest move.

I agree. The Canucks proposal needs to be more ambitious. 1️⃣ It needs a brand-new ice sheet that doesn’t take time away from minor hockey. Adding a new ice sheet is a win for everyone. 2️⃣ Any decision between business and council regarding public lands should not be made behind closed doors. This decision should be made publicly.

@Prominent_Bryan Just wait until unemployment hits 15% and the deficit reaches $500 billion just to maintain zero growth. He’ll probably have a 40 point lead by that point and win every seat across Canada.

Kane should be politely told, there wasn't a market for you at the deadline, but there's no place for you on this team moving forward. We can terminate your contract and allow you to sign elsewhere, but we are committed to playing those who may potentially have a future. #Canucks

@Prominent_Bryan West is a pure political opportunist and the next Premier will have to get their hands dirty. Not his style. He’ll let them take a loss first - the right can get their hands dirty cleaning up- and he can play hero after on all the 80/20 issues like he always does.

Wondering when this comparison eventually gets made. Players who blew up as rookies, got paid, suffered injuries and then completely fell off. Simmons probably had higher highs and lower lows though. And it’s still not too late for EP40 but clock is ticking #canucks

This is a war of choice. We’ve seen regime change wars my whole life, rarely if ever have they resulted in a better outcome for the people. It’s a tragedy to see so many come out in support of further violence. It’s unlikely this will go the way you hope it does.
