More good news on institutional restructuring in Bangladesh. In my last tweet, I noted the effective combination of Dr Salehuddin Ahmed (now in charge of Finance and Commerce) and Dr Ahsan Mansur (in charge of central bank). Now we have a strong trinity after having Prof. Wahiduddin Mahmud on board as the advisor for Planning and Education. Now we can say that we finally have a dream-team for managing economic affairs of the country. This is a very good news for all citizens of the country. It didn’t happen before with the exception of the brilliant First Planning Commission (1972-73) headed by Late Prof. Nurul Islam (he would have been happy today). BIDS’s every economist is thrilled by this news. I am super-excited.
