@TomHoefling I hadn't notice the gas prices as I haven't been to a gas station in years. I pay about $5 for 300 miles of range and wake up with a full tank every morning.

Today I put $85 worth of fuel in the van, and it barely moved over the half tank mark. Then I spent $450 on two carts worth of groceries. Now, tonight, I hear elected Republicans telling me the price of gas and groceries is dropping. Are folks really dumb enough to believe this?

The reason government programs are so inefficient is that, unlike a commercial company, the feedback loop for improvement is broken, because they have a state-mandated monopoly and can’t go out of business if customers are unhappy.
No matter how bad the service is at your DMV (sorry to pick on DMVs), you still have to use your DMV, because it’s a monopoly.

This is not true: the Clinton effort was led by VP Gore who assembled a task force of hundreds of federal workers to spend 6 months looking across gov’t and issue recommendations by September
1993. The recommendations became BIPARTISAN legislation that was passed into law.

JUST IN: Another medical horror story in a court affidavit from a USAID employee stationed overseas. Says his pregnant wife was not medevac-ed for emergency health care because of directives from Washington. Took intervention of a U.S. senator to reverse — but was too late.
