@ScottUhlTX Voted for refreshing moderate @sameppler in Conservative Colleyville. Beth needs to go. We deserve better.

#BethVanDuyne (TX-24) says she’s “Ride or Die” with #Trump today👇
Do any North Texans care to comment ?
Beth Van Duyne@Bethvanduyne
I was the only Mayor of a top 100 city to endorse him in 2016. I proudly served in his Administration and fought for him in 2020. I was one of the earliest to join his TX leadership team for 2024. Been Ride or Die for eight years. Let’s get this done! Keep pouring it on North Texas and let’s re-elect Donald J. Trump!
English

@HortonHearsTx @DanPatrick Meh. I don’t know. It’s clear that how this was going to go had already been decided before the trial even started. Erin Epley used to work for Dan Patrick’s son.
English

I can’t tell you how disappointed I was to see Erin Epley, presumably the only bright star for the prosecution, spread misinformation and state that the Lt. Gov had unfairly already said “no.” I appreciate @DanPatrick setting the record straight.

Erin Epley brings up the @AngelaPaxtonTX video yesterday showing off her non-granite countertops.
Whether those countertops were granite or not, there were $21,000 worth of renovations connected to Nate Paul, she said. #TribFest23

@MoCoAdvocate @tyinspires @endodoug @LoewyLawFirm @patty_michele1 I did not expect the calmest and most composed prosecutor to be called “yappy” simply because she’s female. Gross.
English

@tyinspires @ShaneRoo43 @endodoug @LoewyLawFirm @patty_michele1 Yall know to expect courtroom theatrics. That's part of it. So is smack talking. 🤷🏻♀️

Per several sources:
The House Managers were very upset with the performance of Rusty Hardin thru the trial.
The bigger question is why did the Managers hire an 81 year old to be lead counsel in the biggest trial in Texas history? Who were the other options?

@TrogObvious @AdamKinzinger Have you ever listened to a country song?? They damn sure do.
English

@AdamKinzinger I did not know you were here and I am very glad. Please help us.

@DanPatrick You are playing partisan politics with this state that I love and it is breaking my heart. Corruption won.
English

We must stop the impeachment process from being weaponized. I will not let the Texas House off the hook for their unprecedented misuse of the process, and their rush to judgement based upon hearsay. The House voted without a fair and credible process and that should never happen again. It undermined our democracy. Watch this courageous speech from Rep. Smithee who tried to stop it.

@endodoug @Elgin_Learn2Sew @Forrest4Trees Good grief. Could this comment be more misogynistic? The men were waving their hands theatrically and yelling. She was spouting facts clearly and calmly. Like she knew Patrick would need help understanding the rules so she was prepared. There was nothing yappy about her.
English

@Elgin_Learn2Sew @Forrest4Trees Yeah she comes off as the curt little yappy chihuahua that’s constantly try-harding to show us she’s the female Jim Adler.
English

The prosecutor, Erin Epley, did some damage on Austin Kinghorn, a Paxton deputy by getting him to state that he considers Paxton, not the state of Texas, to be his client. #txlege
English

@endodoug @LoewyLawFirm @patty_michele1 You thought Epley was arrogant and patronizing? Of all people up there she was the most calm, composed and clearly stating facts. Buzbee waving his hands dramatically, making crazy voices, acting like he was too good to be there. Epley looked incredibly polished next to him.
English

@LoewyLawFirm @patty_michele1 I disagree about Epley.
And… I can’t get over that Hardin appeared drunk on the senate floor while questioning. He was carrying around his little drink cup like it was filled with gold… then inexplicably rested the states case.
Doug Harper@endodoug
@Forrest4Trees Epley's arrogance and patronizing drowns out anything she's trying to accomplish. Hell... even Royce West has been eyerolling and handwaving when she's questioning.
English

@WireTexas @CarolforTexas @FBI There was lots of evidence. 2 key pieces: the invoice Paxton paid for the home reno was created AFTER the whistleblowers went to the FBI. And he fired the whistleblowers without just cause thereby violating the TX Whistleblowers Act which was impeachment Article II.
English

See my statement below on the outcome of the impeachment proceedings. #txlege

Houston, TX 🇺🇸 English

@Jetspete @leachfortexas I don’t know how they could have proven that Paxton violated the Texas Whistleblowers Act more clearly. Paxton fired every whistleblower, which is against the law, one month later, and then used taxpayer $ to pay them because he didn’t have just cause. It couldn’t be more clear.
English

I’m still at a loss as to how arrogant Rusty Hardin, Andrew Murr and @leachfortexas were to think they were presenting a strong case. They seemed completely unprepared for the defense. And who made the decision to call Ryan Vassar and open the door for the texts?
English

@Jetspete Was it their job to do that? It seemed they felt they witnessed unethical behavior, reported it as their duty, and wanted the FBI to investigate and find the hard evidence. I wouldn’t have expected the whistleblowers to dig through documents and find hard copies of evidence.
English

@Jetspete @realmitchlittle And then Erin Epley proved that the invoice Paxton paid for the home reno was created AFTER the whistleblowers went to the FBI. Proving there was no intent to pay for the work until after the FBI was aware as they were trying to cover it up. THAT was the big moment.
English

To me the defense had two key moments: @realmitchlittle getting Vassar to admit they went to the feds with no evidence and Buzbee’s back and forth over the countertops. He completely schooled Erin Epley in lawyering and presented photos showing they never got the alleged bribe.
English

@CareBearSig @TanParkerTX Seriously — the precedent this sets. We now allow people to create crimes in plain sight with zero repercussions. This is insane and I don’t know what has happened to my Texas.
English

@TanParkerTX You lowered the ethics bar for state officials for many generations. You good with it?
English

@TanParkerTX You are my Senator and I am so disappointed. There was clear evidence for Article II and violation of the Texas Whistleblowers Act. He ruined people’s careers. You chose party over ethics and that is not even a choice you should ever have to make. I hope you feel shame.
English

Thank you Blake Brickman, Ryan Vassar, Jeff Mateer, David Maxwell, Mark Penley, and Drew Wicker for doing what is right even when it was hard. I am sorry that your peers do not hold the same character. May you find peace and may justice be served one day. #PaxtonTrial #Paxton
English

@weim_mm97 @JennaEllisEsq That’s literally what we just witnessed in the trial and their allegations were deemed credible. That’s why the FBI and the Senate took them seriously.
English

@JennaEllisEsq … will there be any investigation into Blake Brickman and the other whistleblowers to determine how credible their allegations were now that Paxton has been acquitted? ⚠️⁉️
English

@janconcern @TXGOPCaucus @VictoriaTXGOP Thank you #kellyhancock and #robertnichols for putting what is right over what is easy. Thank you for putting ethics over party. Thank you for reviewing the evidence. Thank you for fighting for Texas. You should sleep soundly tonight while your colleagues cannot.
