Foreign policy is domestic policy. We can have universal healthcare, social housing, and a guaranteed union protected job. We can eliminate the cap on social security, wipe away student loan debt, and guarantee SNAP for every American, but instead we line the pockets of oligarchs and “defense” contractors while simultaneously committing war crimes in broad daylight. Like the vast majority of immigrant detainees around the country, these three have never been arrested for — much less convicted of — a crime. Yet your taxpayer dollars are funding their indefinite imprisonment in a criminal jail cell exactly like the one currently housing Nicolas Maduro. I will continue to fight this administration’s un-American immigration dragnet, including through weekly oversight visits, wellness checks, and ensuring proper medical care is provided.
