A Scottish judge has defeated HMRC's efforts to put 2,250 North Sea workers out of a job. HMRC was blocking an administrator from selling a profitable part of a Scottish oil business that had collapsed but the judge over-ruled it. Of course it made more financial sense for HMRC to help preserve 2,250 UK jobs & the consequent personal & corporate tax revenues, but the taxman preferred to be bloody-minded. Thankfully this time HMRC lost.

I've just contacted HMRC.. I've told them I won't be able to pay the tax they say I owe them. My phone was stolen and all my records are on there. True story. Honest.

Ahh they talk shit. Just look at the #loancharge review and their meddling in the recommendations put forward by the far from “independent” reviewer who was in their pocket from the outset to gaslight all with a “good news” story.

What about the #loanchargesuicides as a result of HMRC’s retrospective draconian policy. 11 suicides to date and no one accountable and still they want blood from a stone.

@Ray_McCann55 they have no interest in settlement. Every day that passes penal interest is accruing so what’s the rush? Why would the Counter Avoidance staff want to bring this to a swift close and put themselves out of a job. They have already spent £140m to collect £40m 🙈
