@ChristiFriesen Couldn’t do that with a genie man lift would put a hole in your roof
English

Every time we get a blast of snow, there’s more and more shops/sheds in the Peace Country collapsing because of the snow load.
Today we took care of that stress, and at least it’s only -16°c today. 👌🏼
This side of the shop is the North side, so it doesn’t have as much snow cover as the south side does. The lift just makes it so much safer.
There is already a young fella from the area that is going down a long road of recovery, as the building he was shovelling off, collapsed and he landed in the wreck.
Snow safety, is something we haven’t had to have on our radar for quite a few years to say the least.

Gonna go on a bit of a rant here. If you don’t wanna keep seeing negative stuff, im sorry.
What kills me is the basic, foundational hockey shit that they aren’t doing. Things they show no interest in doing.
They play the game like a bunch of guys who don’t enjoy playing a children’s game for a very good living. They’re playing like a bunch of flaccid, soft, dicks.
Good on Nico for fighting, but that’s not what im talking about.
It’s:
- Letting opposing teams whack you and give you some chin music and you just stand there and take it like a puss
- Not battling hard enough in front of their net to score goals. Scoring goals is hard god damn work sometimes, and they’re just faking it out there. Always a half step behind like “ah I was so close!” It’s like a guy who looks like he wants to block a shot but knows he’s not directly in the shooting lane
- weak clears that end up in the back of the net
- driving the net hard and maybe taking a punch or two to pay the price
- letting opposing D tie you up so fucking easily in front. Always looking like the John Travolta 🤷🏻♂️ meme on rebounds.
It’s just basic, foundational hockey shit. Doesn’t matter how skilled you are. Elias did this shit, Parise, Kovalchuk.. the list goes on.
You can talk all day about generating chances, xGF, WAR… they’re simply not working smart or hard enough to play the right way. This fancy perimeter hockey bullshit is not built for sustainable success. That much is clear.
What sucks is they have the skill to be a very good team. If they only played hockey the right way. But instead we’ll see perimeter shots, zero rebound goals, etc.
We saw a glimpse of playing hockey the right way, a more north south approach in Vegas against the knights. And then they went right back to east west bullshit. If they played the right way, we’d start getting those lucky breaks. The dam would open.
Luke’s been fucking awful. Nico looks like a ghost. I don’t wanna hear about chances generation when he’s coasting on back checks, losing 50/50 puck battles, etc.. Jack playing through an injury so he’s allergic to physical contact. Timo plays like he’s 5’7 170lbs.
Don’t confuse what im saying with fights, hits, etc because that’s not it. Those are outcomes that happen as a result of playing the right way. They’re doing all this surface level shit to prove they’re not soft when all they need to do is respect the game and start doing the basics the right way.
This is why I would kill for Torts as the coach. He’d get canned sure but before that, he’d teach them how to play the right way like he’s done with every other team he coached.
It’s just insanely frustrating watching this team. I have no energy left to fight anyone on this.
If they lose to Columbus tomorrow im taking a break from this team.
Hope everyone has a great New Years.

@slk55again @MarkJCarney Pretty sad when community members go in and destroy the water plants or don’t maintain them. And we get stuck with that bill to fix them? After we already paid to build them.

In the past 10 years, the Liberal government in Canada has partially delivered—but not fully met—its promises to supply clean drinking water to Indigenous communities, particularly First Nations.
⸻
🔹 Background:
In 2015, when Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government took power, it promised to end all long-term drinking water advisories on public systems on reserves by March 2021.
⸻
📊 As of 2025:
•At the start of 2016, there were 105 long-term drinking water advisories on First Nations reserves.
•By mid-2025:
•About 80% of those advisories have been lifted.
•28 communities still face long-term drinking water advisories.
•Several others are under short-term advisories or at risk of new ones.
⸻
🛠️ What has been done:
•Over $4.6 billion has been committed to water infrastructure and maintenance since 2016.
•Hundreds of water systems have been upgraded, repaired, or replaced.
•New agreements with Indigenous communities focus on sustainable, long-term operation and maintenance, not just construction.
⸻
⚠️ Challenges and Criticism:
•The 2021 deadline was missed, and the government has since quietly dropped the hard deadline.
•Some water systems that were “fixed” have later failed again.
•Indigenous leaders and the Auditor General have criticized delays, underfunding for operations, and a lack of clear accountability.

On National Indigenous Peoples Day, we honour the enduring histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis, and we reaffirm our partnership in reconciliation.
Together, we can build a better future, a stronger economy, and a legacy that generations to come can inherit and carry forward. #IndigenousPeoplesDay

@JonFraserTF Construction workers have been doing it before work long before it was ever legal 😂

I live and work downtown. Not only is marijuana more dangerous than first thought, but it's use is far more insidious. During my 15 minute walk to work every morning, I see many people having a morning joint before work (including hirise construction workers).
Can you imagine seeing people having a morning beer or scotch before work?
