@centralrain_ @NotSteven01 Well even if he made many reckless challenges like you say he did, don't forget no one except you think those were reckless cause this was the first time he was sent off. If you want to see what recklessness is look at Aroujo . In the modern game you can't escape being reckless

@Shubhamcee @NotSteven01 Regarding his mistakes, he tends to make reckless challenges in an all or nothing manner, obviously they doesn't always end badly but it's not the most desired quality in a defender to me. Also, he's slow running back, something that Inter covers well and I doubt we could.

@centralrain_ @NotSteven01 Saying bastoni's passing from the back isn't differential just shows that you're just one of those types of people who don't like the other options that you think are right, can't accept that your perception of the player is entirely wrong.

@Shubhamcee @NotSteven01 His ball playing is maximize when he has total freedom to advance wherever he wants with the ball and create from there, something he won't have at Barça, where the positions are much more strict. His passing from back is not so differential.

@centralrain_ @NotSteven01 So your saying a position dominant team can't make the most of the strengths of a ball playing defender? And please name me those shocking mistakes, don't forget it was his first red card and also not entirely his fault at that.

@NotSteven01 My concerns with Bastoni are not based on shocking mistakes, although he has had several of them, it's more that I don't think his weaknesses fit well with our needs and I doubt we can make the most of his strengths, so it's kind of pointless altogether

@nanbasenfc But is it a good/smart move considering senesi and vuskovic cost less than 40/45m ? We also have to go for top striker remember, unless Bastoni price drops to some like 50m which is hard considering he’s inter valuation.

i don't care where Bastoni is gonna play, you can't say no to that amount of technical quality and solutions. ppl don't understand the impact this signing would make for an already monstrous league side. we are going for Bayern Bundesliga domination.

@liabinkin I am going with what Xavi said because no one has ever addressed anything. This is the first we are hearing this from those involved in details .Not saying Laporta made the wrong decision it’s how he went about it

You guys forget that yes, maybe Laporta didn’t want to sign Messi and Xavi could be right about that. But that doesn’t mean there weren’t financial reasons behind it. Barça literally had issues trying to register Gavi’s new contract because they didn’t have enough salary cap space.

I didn't want to be in a situation like that again." "I heard they had to sell players or reduce their salary to sign me, and I didn't want that to happen." "I didn't want to be responsible for that, nor have something to do with it."

Barcelona is one of the best-run clubs in world football right now. And if you cannot see it, you are not paying attention. A couple of years ago, everyone was burying them. They had debts, levers everywhere, salary cap drama. Everything was just happening to them. At some point, they were forced to play at Montjuïc cos Camp Nou was under construction. They had no big signings and their fans were panicking. The narrative was that Barcelona were finished, mismanaged and broken. Now, hey are top of La Liga with 61 points after 25 games with a +42 goal difference. They are four points clear of Real Madrid although Madrid has a game in hand. On the pitch, it is clicking under Hansi Flick. But the real story is off the pitch. That is where the turnaround is most visible. The Deloitte Football Money League 2026 just confirmed Barcelona are second in the world for revenue. €975 million, up 27 percent from last year. Only behind Real Madrid's €1.16 billion. They jumped from sixth, even while the stadium is half-built and they they didn't play at home for a while. Their merchandise still leads Europe. Their sponsorships are solid and their personal Seat Licenses pulled in over €70 million as a one-off boost. Their debts are dropping and small profits are showing up. Their wages are finally under control. And projections say over €1 billion once Camp Nou is fully back. They are not splashing like the old days. They are stabilizing smart and they are doing it well. And the engine behind all of this is La Masia. Lamine Yamal. Pedri. Gavi. Fermín López. Alejandro Balde. Pau Cubarsí. These guys cost zero in transfer fees. But they are world-beaters driving wins, and their values are through the roof. CIES ranks La Masia as the most valuable academy globally at €738 million for players still at the club. Double what Manchester City or Bayern Munich have. That is a product of proper long-term management. They obviously Inested in youth, developed them properly, integrated them and let them shine. They also had smart sales too. They have raised over €52.5 million since summer 2024 from academy and reserve players who did not fully crack the first team. They made some money from Mika Faye, Chadi Riad, Marc Guiu, Xavi Simons to PSG and so on. Guysssssss....this is not the reckless Barcelona of before. It is sustainable with a youth core winning trophies and finances recovering fast. Tbf, Players like Yamal dropping hat-tricks are not just hype. They are proof the club is run right again. Develop, trust, win, cash in where needed. If you are blind to it, open your eyes. This is proper management in action. @DonMateo_X15 @Nealbackup No one mentioned anything about nrr here neal only said that India are in so much trouble specially now today it's highly likely that westindies win with a bigger margin

@Shubhamcee @Nealbackup Again if they do, they get direct qualification and India are out. It has nothing to do with NRR as the original post claims. So NRR only comes into play if SA lose to WI. In most other cases, it's the result that matters not the margin of defeat.

I think the striker situation will be a bigger problem than CB next summer. Not because we need a striker more, but because finding a good striker at a reasonable price will be much harder. At CB, there are already two strong and fairly realistic options on the market. Schloterbeck, with one year left on his contract, should be available for around €50m, and Senesi would be available for free. But when it comes to strikers, if the club can’t spend big, which looks very likely right now, there are genuinely no convincing options. You either have players who aren’t good enough like Vlahovic, players who are too old like Kane, or players who are still prospects and unproven at the highest level. And this isn’t a problem you can keep delaying. We seriously can’t go into another season with Ferran and Lewy as our only striker options, it’s going to be a headache. Basically, either the board pulls off a surprise and makes a big signing, or we’re in real trouble.

🚨 | FC Barcelona are very close to signing Jesse Bisiwu and Ruud Nijstad, with only the final signatures pending, and both are set to join next season; they would be excellent additions, with Ruud fitting the profile of a perfect modern left-footed centre-back thanks to his elite ball-playing ability, composure, and game intelligence, while Jesse brings dribbling, flair, explosiveness, and a constant one-v-one threat down the left flank.
