@MarcherReborn I’m genuinely amazed one of the parachute regiment battalions haven’t been disbanded.

Some of the 62 marching bands? Red Arrows? BBMF? RAF Central Band? Some of the 485 ceremonial horses? Parachute display teams?

@LCplLarry I don’t look at it that way mate. Like I say, I do it because I enjoy it. The financial aspects shouldn’t be overlooked though.

@Si_II_1978 Probably wrong way of looking at it, but when I joined I was told not to rely on the (then TA, now) Reserves as a steady or regular income. Granted that was because our pay clerk was shite, but it's made me look at it more as the reward being the opportunities, less so the money
