JUST IN: The ICE agent who shot Renee Good suffered internal bleeding because of the incident, according to CBS News.
According to two U.S. officials, Jonathan Ross suffered internal bleeding to the torso following the incident.
"The Department of Homeland Security confirmed Ross' injury, but has not yet responded to CBS News' requests for more information," CBS reported.

Okay, you understand that the ICE agent is a mortal man, not omniscient, who doesn't know exactly how his fellow officer is connected to the car. She could have held his arm, it could have been stuck. That's how he himself was dragged was months earlier.
That is the point, in a fraction of a second he had to decide whether her actions were endangering his life or the lives of others. It was eminently reasonable for him to believe they were.

A really important point here from the ICE agent’s father: he was not acting just to protect himself but also the other agent whose arm was still attached to the vehicle when Renee Good hit the gas.
That officer easily could have been dragged with the car if she had been able to successfully get away. Given that the ICE agent himself had been dragged in precisely that manner only months earlier, sustaining serious injuries, he would have been especially aware of the mortal threat her actions posed to his fellow officer.
