I am absolutely against fat shamming… but as @cremieuxrecueil points out in the future Obesity will be a choice and I wonder if it will change societal acceptance of obesity.
I am a believer that obesity is a metabolic disease that is rooted in genetics and compounded by our easy access to Food. But in the future where we have Retatrutide and even more advanced drugs this doesn’t hold water.

@SCHIZO_FREQ You could also make a decent pasta or rice dish in like 30 - 45 minutes and it'll last for days. Just get a protein, vegetables, a sauce for a source of healthy fat, and an optional carb base. Dirt cheap and impossible to screw up.

Liberal ideas sound great in theory, they don't work in practice. If your culture hinges on an idea of "live whatever lifestyle you want, it's all valid" then people choose to live in ways that are counterproductive to the society that everyone wants. Your social framework needs to have standards that sacrifice hedonistic pleasure for long term stability.

If you spend all day absorbing nothing but news headlines from X, you will become so mentally decayed that after a while you are barely a human anymore. You will be in a constant state of DEFCON 1.
Everyone is all fired up about this now, but if people took 30 seconds to read further instead of flipping out over a headline they'd see the truth.
The Israeli Hanta case is not the same strain as the one on the cruise. They contracted this in Eastern Europe after a visit there. This isn't spread person to person.
If you read a headline and it's at all interesting to you, take the time to find the actual back story and see if it's something you should be concerned about. Having people turn into Chicken Little, shouting the "The sky is falling!" every time someone posts a headline is getting ridiculous. Politics, the weather or pandemics, just take a few minutes and read past a quick X headline.

Despite the maps being huge, despite the convoluted rules, despite the weird mashup of mechanics that didn't mesh well together...the biggest problem is that the game ended up being distilled down to rushing the sword and whoever gets it probably wins the game, with mandatory 'do nothing' phases for the first part of the game. That's not a fun gameplay loop.

1. There's always a mandatory cost to vote - whether it's time, bus fare, or even the baseline investment you need to be politically aware.
2. We're looking at the number of people who: have no ID or birth certificate, but would like one, and for whom the cost is prohibitive. That number is vanishingly small.
The goal of any policy is not simply to give everyone everything all the time, the goal is to balance policies so they don't negatively impact too many people while also maintaining some sense of functionality. Even when these edge cases exist, it's better to resolve them when they pop up rather than avoid policy altogether because it allows people to hold the policy hostage like what you're attempting to do right now.

That number is close to 1m alone. 400-450k of that is Amish.
