Yes! According to sources, Senona recieved the letter yesterday. However, investigations into the handling of the R200M exhibits are still ongoing. @eNCA understands Senona has also received a letter regarding the investigations into the Port Shepstone scandal. There's a high possibility Senona may be transferred to another post too and has been asked to make representations as to why he shouldn't be moved. [JUST IN: EXCLUSIVE] Sources within the Police have confirmed to @pule_jones and myself that the suspension of Major-General Lesetja Senona, the KZN Provincial Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) has been “uplifted with immediate effect.” According to a letter signed by Acting National Head Lieutenant General ST Nkosi, the decision was taken in terms of Regulation 10(4) of the SAPS Discipline Regulations, 2016. Senona has been instructed to report to the office of the Acting National Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation for the “issuance of the letter.” Senona featured during proceedings at the Madlanga Commission, which is probing allegations of corruption, criminal syndicates, political interference and wrongdoing within law enforcement structures. Senona confirmed he had close links to the criminally accused Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, and that he has known him for at least seven years. He accompanied Matlala to meet with KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi at a plush apartment in Umhlanga, north of Durban. Senona said while he shares a “brotherly bond” with Matlala, he never assisted him with his SAPS contract. Senona has not been criminally charged and has previously denied wrongdoing.
