The Democratic party us like a driver who sees the gas gauge on 'E' for the last 20 miles but won't stop for gas, thinking that the reserve will get them through. They tried to run on fringe issues for so long and it didn't work. Rather than stop and refill with mainstream ideas, they're hoping the DSA reserve will be enough for now. Inevitably the tank will run dry.

The problem with your thesis here is Mamdani's lame duck second term is probably going to coincide with a more favorable City Council. DSA is due to pick up several seats at the minimum (Nurse's, Gutierrez's for starters) and he'll have time to install a friendly speaker

I think for people who want to bring down Mamdani, there is no imminent way to do that. Blakeman isn’t going to win, and citywide elections aren’t until 2029. The easiest thing to do right now is bring Mamdani’s numbers down so he’s basically a lame duck with no discernible influence like de Blasio was. He already doesnt have the support of the City Council. Even when the new DSA legislators in Albany, he doesn’t have the support to get his agenda there, unless his influence grows.

They celebrated his death, called people “maggots,” and mocked Jesus… all while the couple stayed calm and kept recording. This is the new standard of “tolerance.” You’re still allowed to wear what you want in public. That shouldn’t be controversial.

Being called islamaphobic isn't bad anymore. It's just another term like racist, nazi or fascist that unhinged liberals overuse in an attempt to silence debate and cover an unpopular political ideology. The left emptied the chamber with every conceivable negative label for years and normal Americans are used to it now. The terms no longer have the intended impact. Being called islamaphobic, racist, nazi or fascist just means that you're a moderate Democrat Independent or Republican voter. Those voting blocks make up over 85% of the population. Good luck with the playground insults going forward.

New York City is taking the first step in implementing the controversial new pied-à-terre tax. The city says letters are being sent out to notify property owners who may be subject to the tax. They would be charged for one-, two-, and three-family homes valued at more than $5 million. The Department of Finance has also launched a dedicated website with information on who is required to pay the tax and how to submit documentation.
