@MartinJKeatings Swinney made this election wholly about independence. He failed to get 50% the electorate to vote and failed to secure 50% of the total vote share. That is no mandate for independence. Quite the opposite and a category fail however you want to spin the seat numbers.

The number of pro-independent MSP's in Holyrood is going to be a majority. That's a clear mandate for a second referendum. Period! The SNP now need to get with the greens and deliver that mandate. NO EXCUSES!

At the last SNP conference, depute leader Keith Brown said John Swinney would have to quit if they did not win an overall majority.
