Now Apple must remove one of the worst 'features' which allows an app to persistently store data in the local keystore in a way that only a full phone wipe can remove.
If I uninstall an app, then reinstall it, I should not still be signed into my account for that app.

We are very happy that today Apple issued a patch and a security advisory. This comes following @404mediaco reporting that the FBI accessed Signal message notification content via iOS despite the app being deleted. Apple’s advisory confirmed that the bugs that allowed this to happen have been fixed in the latest iOS release. You can read more here: support.apple.com/en-us/127002 Note that no action is needed for this fix to protect Signal users on iOS. Once you install the patch, all inadvertently-preserved notifications will be deleted and no forthcoming notifications will be preserved for deleted applications. We’re grateful to Apple for the quick action here, and for understanding and acting on the stakes of this kind of issue. It takes an ecosystem to preserve the fundamental human right to private communication.

i think, related to this topic, people should be aware that discord saves every image you view (desktop and mobile) so if something like this happens you should immediately clear the app/program's cache files ( C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Roaming\discord\Cache\Cache_Data )

Yesterday I got a massive cyber attack on my discord server, thousands of (obviously illegal) CSAM were dropped and myself, mods, and any other unwilling viewer were exposed to this. The worst part is Discord moderation COMPLETELY FAILED. I couldn’t ban the attacker because it was an “App”, so I was forced to manually lock every channel in my discord to prevent any further harm. When I got to the last channel I was informed I couldn’t private it because “it’s against community guidelines to not have a text channel open to the public” MEANWHILE we were HELPLESS to stop the attack because of this. Discord claims they’re making recent changes because of child safety? What a joke. They can’t event prevent unapproved 3 day old app on their own platform from distributing CSAM. I’ve been a 8 year nitro user, I cancelled it last week because of the P*lantir connections. After this I’m looking completely for a replacement. 🤬 Discord if you want to make it up to me, start by getting these App creators involved with this attack arrested. Yes I submitted a report.

@uwukko Oh wow this looks really good, I was definitely missing Translate after installing Helium. One thing I was curious about: do you know if it'd be technically possible to enable Apple Translate on right-click like Safari? I quite like how it looks/works & no extra extension needed.

kagi translate is easily the best translation extension i've used, it's really high quality, doesn't get in the way, and doesn't rely on google
it's even made with svelte, so it's obviously peak

I do find it curious that the only public statement Jon made was about how he looked forward to talking with Apple to clear everything up. This is a really bad look and not a smart decision at all
