They didn't. They bought cosmetics with the game's name printed on the box. - The store listing literally said "Marathon" was included in the Deluxe Edition - The $14 only covered Runner Shells, a battle pass voucher, and other extras - The PS Store thought trial players already owned the base game, so it charged them for the "upgrade" only - When the free week ends June 9, they lose everything unless they buy the base game again Sony quietly removed the offer and started handing out refunds. Bungie's second unforced error in 48 hours.

When making the purchase it did not say upgrade, it clearly showed “Marathon (game)” being part of the purchase and our receipts clearly say “Marathon Deluxe Edition (game)”. Sony should honor it, this is their mess up.

Still not sure what to believe. Either in a week a ton of people got a huge discount or a major shit show is incoming.
