Donald Trump has been permanently blocked from defunding PBS and NPR according to a federal judge. The judge ruled that Trump's attempt to defund public broadcasting is a direct violation of the First Amendment.

@jiggumoe @pubity I know nuance can be difficult, but let's try: Congress allocated funds to PBS, NPR, etc. Instead of pushing for lawmakers to redo/revoke the contracts/funds, he directly put a stop to the payments because he didn't like what was said. That's illegal.

@koto2992 @gosc101 @OliverWDahl It's more the fact that there is no longer a class of people that is exclusively used to build wealth off of. It used to be serfs and slaves (slaves were excluded from the generational wealth measure) but now it's the lower/middle class that's exploited to make the rich richer.

@gosc101 @OliverWDahl yeah well if things were going how they had historically, the boomers wouldn't be richer than those that came after. each generation would continue to get wealthier and wealthier. but that's not whats happening. the economy is shit because those kinds of people rule.

@letsgetitbetter @nevertakeknee @micyoung75 Those are separate examples. In OP, they wouldn't have known his immigration status if he wasn't stopped illegally. In yours, there was already an (assumed) warrant and investigation. But if in yours the warrant turns out to be faulty, then they couldn't prosecute on the cp.

ICE stopped a car, took the passenger to their field office, and then told him they had been looking for someone else. They held him anyway. A federal judge reviewed it and said without the ICE mistake he would not have been detained at all. Miller’s response is that the judge is a leftist abusing habeas corpus to grind down enforcement. That framing does something specific: it defines any judicial correction of enforcement errors as sabotage. Under that logic, ICE cannot make mistakes that courts can fix. The only permissible outcome after an arrest is detention. That is not law. The Constitution’s habeas corpus protection exists precisely for this — not as an immigration policy tool but as a foundational check on executive detention of individuals. Asylum seekers have Fourth and Fifth Amendment rights. Courts have said so repeatedly. Miller wants that to stop. What he is describing is executive detention without judicial review. That is a different country than this one.

Stephen Miller@StephenM

This is a deranged article and preposterous ruling. Not once does it mention the fact that the detainee is an illegal alien (freed into the country by Dems in 2022). A federal district court judge ordered the alien released again because “this is a person who was just living his daily life.” Congress long ago explicitly stripped the judiciary of jurisdiction over deportation cases precisely because it is so ludicrous and destructive to afford valuable federal trial court hours to individual civil deportations (in a nation with millions upon millions of illegal aliens). And yet, in plain defiance of law, it is now routine anytime an illegal alien is arrested a network of activists and NGO lawyers instantly file improper and frivolous habeas petitions in federal district court to demand their immediate release. Leftist judges who, again, never dispute the aliens are here illegally, then order ICE to release the alien. Both the illegals’ attorneys and the judges who enable them are engaged in a gross and egregious abuse of the legal system in an effort to grind down the enforcement of our sovereign laws.

@Moderatemuch @NortheastHQ @micyoung75 There are already processes in place for this: oversight committees, audits, and mandatory reports/balances that are done with each step of grant money. Trump was complaining about a bunch of money being wasted while simultaneously firing the people that ensured it wasn't.

A former investment banker named Justin Fox sat under oath for six hours and could not define the word he was hired to police. He used ChatGPT to flag grants containing "Black" and "homosexual" but not "white" or "caucasian." He canceled a Holocaust documentary. He axed a museum's HVAC repair because an AI decided "diverse audiences" might someday visit. He had no legal authority to cancel any of it. The depositions confirm that. The $100 million in already-appropriated funds he helped torch? Congress approved that. DOGE overrode it anyway, on a spreadsheet, with a chatbot. Efficiency is a serious word. It means knowing the statute, the precedent, and the human cost of every cut. What the NEH depositions prove is something simpler and more damning. These weren't reformers. They were people with access and no accountability... and a very poor grasp of American history.

@bizness_u @EK_2C4M @PressSec That screen doesn't imply what you think it does. A single choke point handles 20% of the *world's* daily oil consumption. We are a global economy. This directly increases the costs of shipping and drastically slows down movement through all ports. Google is free.

This story is 100% FAKE NEWS.  CNN decided to run this garbage based on three anonymous “sources familiar with discussions.”   This is despite the fact that myself, the Secretary of War, the Secretary of State, and multiple lawmakers (who were actually present for the recent classified briefing) have directly disputed this false reporting.  THE TRUTH: The Pentagon has been planning for Iran’s desperate and reckless closure of the Strait of Hormuz for DECADES, and it has been part of the Trump Administration’s planning well before Operation Epic Fury was ever launched.  The idea that Chairman Cain and Secretary Hegseth weren’t prepared for this possibility is PREPOSTEROUS. The President was fully briefed on it, and a goal of the Operation itself, to annihilate the terrorist Iranian regime’s navy, missiles, drone production infrastructure, and other threat capabilities is quite literally intended to deprive them of their ability to close the Strait. President Trump will not allow rogue Iranian terrorists to stop the freedom of navigation and the free flow of energy. Wiping out these terrorists who indiscriminately target civilians and attempt to hold the global economy hostage is part of the ongoing noble U.S. mission. The Fake News is working overtime to discredit President Trump, his Administration, and our U.S. Military, all of whom are working 24/7 to eliminate the threat of the Iranian regime. It’s a complete disgrace to witness this from the media, and we will keep fighting back against it.

The salacious allegation that NPR reported today about President Trump is so utterly ridiculous that NPR should feel ashamed for publishing it. Here's what they left out of their story: The woman, who was interviewed for the first time by the FBI in 2019, claimed that she was 13 in 1983 when her mother put out an ad for her to be a babysitter and that Jeffrey Epstein lured her to a house in South Carolina on the promise of a babysitting job. She says that Epstein then gave her cocaine and alcohol before forcing her into oral sex. It was in a later FBI interview that she made her allegation against President Trump. Now, that story is completely un-credible for several reasons: Epstein never had a residence in South Carolina, Epstein was known to never do alcohol or drugs, and every other allegation against him starts with massages— not drug-fueled sexual acts. There was also another bizarre moment when she identified Epstein using a photo that she claimed she needed to crop in order to not "implicate additional individuals." It turned out to be a widely circulated photo of Trump and Epstein. On top of that, the woman's lawyer who set this whole interview up is Lisa Bloom, who was also responsible for the bullshit Katie Johnson allegation that was laughed out of court in 2016. It's clear what NPR's intention here was-- take a completely non-credible allegation from the Epstein and slap a salacious headline on it to create a news cycle on the day of the State of the Union.

@RedFox297 @TakedownMRAs @esjesjesj I already did. It's physically impossible to reduce your T to 0 as a cis male w/out significant medical intervention. Did you just skip over that? What? Everybody on the right that speaks about this claimed she's trans, and was born a male. What do you think cis means?

Nowhere in that quote does it state “She didn't have any higher testosterone than other female athletes that reduce their T levels.” Here’s the quote again. Please feel free to show where it claims that. No-one is claiming Khelif is trans or a “c!s” male. Don’t strawman.

@RedFox297 @TakedownMRAs @esjesjesj It's right there in the quoted article. She reduced her T levels to 0. That is not possible without *significant* medical intervention for a cis male. And again, it is illegal to be trans in her country. She legally would not be able to do that as a cis male.

Lets be clear, Mark Milley told Chinas General Li, "you and I have known each other for now five years. If we're going to attack, I'm going to call you ahead of time. It's not going to be a surprise." and the main stream media otherwise buried it. That was while he was working for Trump. I remember John Kerry under Biden advising Iranians how to wait out trump.

🚨 BREAKING: Members of Congress were just briefed on an intercepted call between foreign nationals discussing someone close to Donald Trump — involving Iran. A whistleblower says Tulsi Gabbard restricted access to the report and blocked wider sharing across U.S. intelligence agencies. Let’s be clear: If this were Biden. If this were Obama. If this were any Democrat… It would be wall-to-wall headlines.

In 2018 I ran for Senate against Dianne Feinstein—watched votes flip every 10 minutes, heard voters say my name wasn't even on ballots in LA. In 2020, running for Congress against Ted Lieu, a whistleblower tipped me: they're rigging it. I sent a press release—if I find irregularities, I'll prosecute. And I did. Teamed with Election Integrity Project, sued the state over non-citizens, dead voters, out-of-state ballots—courts shut us down, never saw the evidence. So when CNN laughs at Brianna Lyman, citing the left-leaning Brennan Center—that's not facts, that's denial from an advocacy group that calls voter ID racist and fraud concerns myths. One line of code: citizen or not, show ID. That's all you have to do. They're making it sound like that's undermining democracy. I'm no partisan hack. I've run four times, got erased, got warned, got sued—and I'm still here. One illegal vote isn't rare. It's rot. Stop laughing. Start fixing—demand the Senate vote for the SAVE Act.
Brianna Lyman@briannalyman2

Me: "Noncitizen voting does happen" Phillip: "How frequently is it?" Me: "If you want I can list some of it" Phillip (mockingly): “Yeah, please. Like, actual numbers." Me: *starts rattling off "like, actual numbers" *entire panel laughs* Me: It's funny that you all mock 'small' amounts of [noncitizen, illegal voting] but remember that Mariannette Miller-Meeks won her 2020 election by SIX votes. Imagine if there were six fraudulent votes. Some elections are quite literally decided on the margins and every vote counts. Philip: So it's 'incredibly' rare American elections should be decided by Americans only. Pass the SAVE Act. NOW.
