@flyspicejet @Yatra_Care I booked a SpiceJet ticket through Yatra, tried web checkin, it was forcing me to pay for the seat. Is there no way to web checkin without paying for the seat? Does buying a ticket not guarantee a seat? @DGCAIndia

@flyspicejet Yes I had selected auto assign and got the message that seat will be auto assigned and I will receive the boarding pass on my email. But that did not happen. Yatra customer care told me that web checkin is not possible without paying for the seat.

Hi Sovit, please note that the allocation of preferred seats is chargeable. To avoid any additional charges, passengers can always opt for the auto-assign option at the time of check-in during the seat assignment process. You may proceed with the web/auto check-in on our website spicejet.com under the 'Check-In' option.
