@fulltimelinkie Why is it still dropping in the market cap rankings?
English

Everybody is so caught up in the price action of $LINK. What did you expect, the whole market is going Sideways and you think $LINK will just pump into oblivion on a random announcement.
There is a Lack of capital inflow into crypto and this Translates into boring price action even when projects announce great news.
If Defi moves from $2T to $100T then we will talk again about $LINK price but right now the only thing you have to focus on is the technical advancements of the @chainlink ecosystem. And if that does not interest you then idk why you are investing in it in the first place.
English

@fulltimelinkie @ChainlinkLoad But the people that need the HAVE to use/sell them to people that really don’t.
Thats the part that I hadn’t quite grasped. The “node wars” haven’t materialized.
English

@Spudlink1 @ChainlinkLoad It's not an equilibrium because the value to ecosystem participants is REAL, thus the value to hold $LINK as an asset that can be sold for a premium is REAL. Anybody can buy $LINK tokens, but some people NEED $LINK tokens.
English

@fulltimelinkie @ChainlinkLoad Yes but if it’s sold as fast as it’s bought it does no good.
English

@ChainlinkLoad @Spudlink1 The necessity of the $LINK token, however, is not deniable. It is an integrated part of the product mechanism.
English

@fulltimelinkie @ChainlinkLoad Ok fair point. I have a fair reply I hope you can answer.
If that dynamic was as important as you say, how has Chainlink enabled 30 trillion of transactions and virtually zero proof of that dynamic playing out.
I know that’s the theory. But it’s literally not playing out.

@fulltimelinkie @ChainlinkLoad Ok finish it out. The node provider receives LINK and……they sell it back into the market for fiat to pay bills and salaries and all that. It’s a closed ecosystem. There will be constant selling pressure as well.
English

@ChainlinkLoad $LINK token = required for $LINK services. $LINK services increase? So does need for purchasing of $LINK token. Purchasing services in other tokens? They're immediately exchanged for market purchases of $LINK tokens. Do you not understand how growing buy pressure affects price?

NYC has three distinct social groups based on long weekend vacation destinations:
- those who go to the East (Hamptons),
- those who go South (Miami, Caribbean), and
- those who go North (Upstate, Vermont, Quebec).
Entirely different status hierarchies.

One of the most beautiful areas in the US. A true getaway - just a couple hours drive from NYC.

@spamdecoy @UziCryptoo Houses in my town are sold within days, with bidding wars. All the NYC burbs are.
English

@Spudlink1 @UziCryptoo Yet actual families with school age children don't seem to be engaging in those bidding wars... perhaps you should consider that the schools/taxes aren't as much of a draw as you believe.
English

My dad sold the house I grew up in back in 1999. It's 60 years old, 2,500 SF, on a third of an acre on Long Island NY. If he owned it today the property taxes would be about $2,600. Not bad right? The problem is that's per month not per year. Yup, 33K a year in property taxes!
Property taxes should be illegal.

@spamdecoy @UziCryptoo Suburban NYC real estate prices continue to appreciate with bidding wars while the rest of the country is falling. Everyone wants in those school districts.
English

@Spudlink1 @UziCryptoo Enrollment in most Long Island school districts peaked around 2005 and has been going down significantly for the past 20 years. Administration has still expanded and the pensions are forever.

@DowdEdward @DonMiami3 I know what it’s like. Fridays off, long lunches, and summers at the beach interspersed by zooms and minor allocation tinkers on the margins.
Occasionally a manager strays into being too smart, makes a big bet and eventually blows up. We in finance mystify its complexity.
English

@DonMiami3 The other thing I love is folks have no idea what managing a large amount of AUM is like…it’s not day traded.

@HSightCapital @13thBen @iampaulgrewal @coinbase So what? That’s capitalism. Mutual benefit.
Now they make more. The government is literally force them to keep it all.
English

@Spudlink1 @13thBen @iampaulgrewal @coinbase Or for a centralized crypto exchange that stood to loose $1.35 bn in revenue.
