Cemeteries are mostly dead in my area. That is to say, almost nobody new gets buried in them and most of the people who would visit those gravesites are dead themselves. Many of these cemeteries are in urban areas which have high real estate value and the gravestones have dates from mostly the 19th and early 20th century. Nobody goes there much anymore except for jogging. Here's a crazy idea: Probably time to knock those headstones over and convert the markers to GPS coordinates with a metal plate holding a QR code flush with the ground. This will allow the cemeteries to be converted into golf courses. An exciting new profit center for the revenue starved cemeteries. A shot in the arm, so to speak. The few people who want to visit their great-grandmother who passed on in 1957 can be given a yellow flag to bring over to it, using the GPS function on their smartphone. The yellow flag will alert the golfers to temporarily pause play on that particular hole, out of courtesy for the mourner, who can then navigate over to the coordinates and pull up the QR code to obtain details on the deceased, such as birth and death, relatives, and a short biography, as well as associated photos. Once the information is uploaded, the mourner will then depart the area and play on that hole can now resume. I think it's a win-win.
