On May 8, at the direction of #SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Two male narco-terrorists were killed during this action, and one survived the strike. Following the engagement, USSOUTHCOM immediately notified the U.S. Coast Guard to activate the Search and Rescue system for the survivor. El desmantelamiento de la represión es indispensable para alcanzar una genuina transición a la democracia y a la libertad en Venezuela. Los más de 500 presos políticos, civiles y militares que mantiene tras las rejas el régimen, deben ser liberados, y debe garantizarse la libertad plena, sin restricciones, de cada uno de los venezolanos que fueron secuestrados por razones políticas. Today at the Permanent Council, I reaffirmed that the situation of persons deprived of liberty for political reasons in Venezuela remains a human rights concern and a regional urgency. Repression and political persecution cannot be tolerated in our hemisphere. We reiterate our call for the unconditional release of all political prisoners and support greater transparency, accountability, and democratic guarantees for the Venezuelan people. The OAS stands ready to support dialogue, democratic institutions, and a peaceful, Venezuelan-led path toward stability, reconciliation, and prosperity. A stable and democratic Venezuela is essential not only for its citizens, but for the stability and well-being of the entire hemisphere. We call on all actors to engage constructively, uphold democratic principles, and work together toward a future grounded in human rights, representative democracy, and lasting peace.

Delcy Rodríguez se paró frente a su círculo de matones para anunciar que su llamada “ley de amnistía” ha terminado. Esto solo confirma lo que ya sabíamos: nunca hubo una intención real de cooperar con los Estados Unidos. La verdad es que, con o sin la ley de amnistía, cientos de presos políticos siguen tras las rejas, deliberadamente excluidos del debido proceso y castigados injustamente solo por oponerse al régimen. @POTUS y @SecRubio han sido claros en sus demandas. ¡Estados Unidos debería volver a imponer sanciones a Delcy!

Igbert Marín Chaparro has been detained since 2018, tortured, denied basic rights, and is STILL imprisoned even after completing his sentence.
