Arrived in Oslo and excited to catch up with friends, new and old, over the next few weeks. First order of business: cleaning up after 14 hours of travel, then dinner and hitting up Rock In later tonight.

We're installing carpet to flooring transitions today. Hubby needed to trim the carpet back a bit with a carpet knife & clean up the rough edges. He said "You've got a nice set of tailor scissors in a sheath. Can I use those?" I called the cops on him.

@intoleranse @ThomasIvar62 Actually I’d say that makes our memories about equal. I used dialup back when the public internet first became a thing, and prior to that for BBs

Oslo was amazing as was London. I had a blast catching up with friends old. Big thanks to @ToneHansson for showing me around Oslo, @runeo34, @intoleranse and all the rest of the Oslo DataSaturday folks, as well as @Neil_Hambly for the great time in London.

@CFDevelop @justizin US stock exchanges and hedge funds make heavy use of relational databases. They do scale very well when properly designed. That being said often you will find a mix of other database types as well.

@justizin Perhaps these are the right reasons, but many people argue relational dbs don't scale

A while back, I worked with an SQL server database with several tables that had over a trillion records each, and it ran fine. Please, tell me again why it's necessary to split your database with a few hundred thousand records into #microservice dbs

Just went through all the @DataMoshpitDE submissions and their intro songs. I take it personally that there are no Katatonia or Opeth Songs in there yet. #SQLFamily don't let me down... CC @FrankGeisler
