In the current context of the ongoing conflict, IAEA Director General @rafaelmgrossi reiterates his deep concern about recent military strikes reportedly occurring near Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, the latest on Tuesday evening.
Given that it is an operating nuclear power plant with a large amount of nuclear material, DG Grossi warns that damage to the facility could result in a major radiological accident affecting a large area in Iran and beyond.
DG Grossi calls again for maximum restraint to avoid the risk of such a nuclear accident and stresses the importance of observing the 7 pillars for ensuring nuclear safety and security during a conflict.

“Any deal to end the war would need to include the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, address Iran's stockpile of highly enriched uranium, and also establish a long-term agreement on Iran's nuclear program, ballistic missiles and support for proxies in the region.”
Good luck. Trump, confused and frustrated as to why Iran wouldn’t agree to U.S. terms when it had an “armada” off Iran’s coast, is setting himself up for further confusion and frustration.

According to the Wall Street Journal, citing multiple U.S. officials, Iran has targeted the joint U.S.-UK base at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean with two intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBM). According to the report, one missile failed in flight whilst the other was engaged by a U.S. destroyer utilizing an SM-3 interceptor, but a successful interception was not confirmed. None of the missiles hit the base. This is notable as Iranian long-range precision fires have not previously been publicly assessed as having the range to hit such a target as Diego Garcia, as the base is some 4,000 kilometers from Iran proper.

I am being told the 2026 OSCE budget adopted just now amounts to 123 million Euros. For comparison: The last OSCE budget from 2021 amounted to approx. 138 million Euros. This means that OSCE participating states agreed to cuts totalling approx 15 million Euros.
Stephanie Liechtenstein@StLiechtenstein
The decision has just been adopted. PC debate ongoing.
