Souhan: Olympic men’s hockey team allowed itself to be used by Donald Trump startribune.com/olympic-mens-h…
English

@FreeTheBee22 @StarTribune @BostonGlobe I imagine the defense of this would be somewhere along the lines of “but trump…”
English

@StarTribune Chris Curtis on X: "A refresher on the @BostonGlobe’s editorial when Tim Thomas declined President Obama’s invite to the White House after the Stanley Cup win. " / X

English

The men could have declined their invitation to the White House as a show of solidarity with the women’s team, which also won gold in Italy, but they didn’t, columnist Jim Souhan says. startribune.com/olympic-mens-h…
English

@corbett3000 @BaronWonderburg @danielgothits Boomers voted for the people who enacted those overly restrictive zoning codes.
English

@BaronWonderburg @danielgothits Yes. But boomers who bought homes didn't ruin things. If we want to pick a cause it's local building departments with overly restrictive zoning codes...or interest rates set by the fed that cause mortgage rates to be unafforable.
English

@crazekananas @BenMpls @vzmercogliano @JoeSmithNHL again you’re projecting bc i never said that. i don’t have a problem with their political beliefs. i have a problem with them 1. making fun of the women’s team and perpetuating misogyny and 2. them ALL saying “everything is so political” then going to SOTU. it’s hypocritical

Trocheck said he had never been inside the White House or the Capitol before and called it "such an honor to be able to go" and tour it all yesterday.
On the discourse surrounding the call with Trump and their decision to attend, he said this:
"It's sad that it's getting politicized the way it is. We're all very proud to be Americans, and we were all so proud to go over there and win a gold medal. We went over there with a job, and it was to win gold and do it for our country and for everybody back here, and we were able to do that. It's sad that it automatically gets turned into something political when all we really wanted to do was represent everybody in here and everybody in our country as well as we could."

@KristaRay194096 @HannahRyan01 @pashedmotatos You’re clearly letting your deranged hatred for trump cloud your judgement. See how that works?
English

@StatingTheObv13 @HannahRyan01 @pashedmotatos What part should I lighten up about, exactly? And you clearly do like Trump, you’re falling all over yourself to justify his “joke”.
English

@KristaRay194096 @HannahRyan01 @pashedmotatos I’m sure they were invited after they won (like all teams typically are) which was 2 days before the Mens game.
English

@KristaRay194096 @HannahRyan01 @pashedmotatos Right. Hence why it was a joke, Krista. You really need to lighten up. I don’t even like trump but this reaction is so over the top.
English

@StatingTheObv13 @HannahRyan01 @pashedmotatos His opponents can’t impeach him, it’s a Republican majority Congress. And maybe two people said, “2 for 2”, “chanting” is a gross over exaggeration.
English

@KristaRay194096 @HannahRyan01 @pashedmotatos Seriously? The joke is that his opponents will impeach him for the silliest of reasons. He had already invited the women’s team before he even made the joke. Also the men started chanting 2 for 2 in support of both team’s wins.
English

@carlaclewis @Kicksbuttson @ingelramdecoucy Lot of work to sand all of that. I’d rather just paint over it.
English

@Kicksbuttson @ingelramdecoucy Even sanding the wood and using a different stain would have been better than the paint. They could have painted the coffered ceiling, polished the wood, changed the window dressings, and done a better flooring to give the room a less heavy look.
English

@KristaRay194096 @HannahRyan01 @pashedmotatos Stop being so soft. It’s a joke. He did invite the women’s team.
English

@HannahRyan01 @pashedmotatos “I’m going to have to invite the women’s team or else I’ll get impeached…” raucous laughter. Did you watch the video?
English

@BF_Finster @annbauerwriter @LouNewsMan Your entire feed is trump. You should try developing a personality.
English

@annbauerwriter @LouNewsMan Trump was actually convicted of fraud and you love his orange ass. Why is that?
English

Some crazy details about fraud at Minnesota’s autism centers:
-State workers were not legally allowed to make unannounced site visits because the autism centers were not required to be licensed
-Now that licensing is required, only 6 of the 500 autism centers have applied so far
-Anyone over 18 with some online training can be a level-3 autism provider, offering “medical services”

@XSoulScientist @flapprdotnet 3. There’s a 3rd brother and all 3 were selected in the top 10 of the nhl draft.
English

@flapprdotnet Ellen Hughes raising not one, but two NHL stars AND helping Team USA win Olympic gold? Absolute legend status 🔥🇺🇸

@robbsma @GrageDustin Dustin works on political campaigns, does analysis, lobbies & writes for numerous publications. Perhaps learn a little bit about the person you’re criticizing before you spout off nonsense.
English

@StatingTheObv13 @GrageDustin Complaining on X doesn't equate to working to make things better.
English

@robbsma @GrageDustin Cowards leave when things get tough. Strong people work to make things better.
English

@GrageDustin Why do you live there if you hate it so bad?
Seems like maybe Alabama or Mississippi might be a better option for you.
English

@Giosomethingidk celebrating is great, just being overly cocky about it is not that necessary
English

@NYLANDER4MVP Don’t worry, buddy. We’re gonna smoke ya in the men’s championship too.
English

@DoctorLemma Why are there so many comments suggesting this doesn’t happen these days. Does nobody remember the soccer team cave rescue? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tham_Luan…
English

38 years ago, an 18 month old girl fell 22 feet into an 8 inch wide abandoned well in Midland, Texas.
For 58 hours, Baby Jessica McClure was trapped underground without food or water while rescuers drilled a parallel shaft through solid rock to reach her. A microphone lowered into the well picked up the sound of her singing “Winnie the Pooh” to herself in the dark.
The rescue was broadcast live and watched by millions of people around the world. She lost a toe, needed 15 surgeries, and remembers none of it. Today she is a mother of two, still living in the same town.
English

@MicroBerto @DoctorLemma Do you have an equivalent modern example in our country of this event?
English

@donovan3rdtry @DoctorLemma Nonsense. Those kids trapped in the cave in Thailand was just a few years ago. The best divers & engineers came from all over the world. There’s a whole ass documentary about it. Touch grass brother.
English

@DoctorLemma A rescue group like we see in the video doesn’t exist today. Same exact scenario today and the rescue is unsuccessful. These hero’s are now the minority.
At best, Laquan and the homies would be pouring 40’s down the well as a symbol of RIP
