Don’t forget about the 2022 blowout on the other side of Grandfalls. It manifested in much the same - brine water started flowing down Hwy 18. I bought the lot and need to excavate the P&A job the RRC did to see if it’s leaking like their Monroe 5 “plugging” from 2021.

The RRC GIS map shows a plugged well under the church. There are many plugged wells in Grandfalls and other Permian Basin towns. While previous blowouts and geysers have occurred on rural ranches, this surface breach is right in the middle of town.
