Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre told me today in Oslo that the Iran war is a a war without mandate and without consultation. Norway cannot participate as it needs its military to defend its waters while its forces don’t have the capabilities which the conflict demands.

@JackS68032 You are right, there is too much failing upwards- managers promoted due to their ability to perform at interviews by being assertive, masking their lack of ability and then in position they do everything they can to preserve themselves rather than effectively manage.

@StreeterNews The problem IMHO is that management or more specifically man management is so poor in the UK. Performance is simply not monitored closely enough for fear of being called a control freak or a micro-manager etc, so home working becomes a problem when it should not be.

It’s this type of rule which risk ruining the hybrid options which are a lifeline for so many, needing the flex to juggle care and careers. Focus should be on productivity and performances should be tracked. Presenteeism can be counter productive but unbridled freedom is foolish

Scot Gov civil servants can refuse to work from their offices without disciplinary consequences, and the agreement that civil servants would try to come in 2 days a week was conditional on attendance not being monitored. 🤯
