@LayoffAI Maine has a surprisingly low number, is that accurate? I’d think it’d be higher just from the colleges in the state.

@AndThatsBB @Elsquidwardo95 Harmon Killebrew is the correct answer for the Twins. I’m a yuge Jeter guy but I’m taking the 573 dingers every day of the week.

@Elsquidwardo95 I think Brett was enough better than Jeter + played his entire career with KC. Twins have Walter Johnson in their franchise history from the Senators days

If Derek Jeter played his entire career for each franchise, would he be that franchise's greatest player?

@notgaetti @baseball_ref @CodifyBaseball @theaceofspaeder @TheWARmonger_ @JessicaDBrand @BigLeagueDigest @EmSheDoesIt @JLas43_ @OfficialMLBRFC @sondraa Derek Jeter would EASILY be the greatest player ever for 29/30 franchises. No question about it. He’s the greatest shortstop to ever play the game, but at best he’s the 3rd greatest Yankee ever (and probably its fairer to say he’s 5th or 6th among Yankees legends)

@musicandroots Jann Swafford described him (in his bio on B) as a “radical evolutionary” instead of a revolutionary. Always found that distinction helpful to keep in mind when some people go off about how Beethoven “broke all the rules” or something

There's some truth to this. Even Beethoven's innovations weren't outlandish. Everything he did grew from a strongly classical inheritance.

@musicandroots Outlandish innovations actually betray a lack of imagination

@stevemagness Definitely something to be said about getting a B- when you feel like an F, versus getting an A+ when you feel like an A+

Being great once is easy; being good every day is hard. We tend to obsess over raising the ceiling. We define our potential by our absolute best performance. But true mastery is about raising the floor. What you can execute on a average day?

I REALLY want sub 1:14 this Saturday. This has been such a frustrating time to hit. Failed a few times, but really hoping I can pull it off this time. 🤞

Unpopular opinion. Small(ish) marathons are better if you’re thinking about performance. Logistics easier. Start isn’t crowded. Low-stress. Big city energy is great but standing on a start line for 45–60 minutes pre-race is NOT.

@BarstoolHubbs It’s as if they’re moving in slo motion. Like they have a hex put on them where they inexplicably forget how to play baseball.

@YankeeWRLD Said it before and I’ll say it again, if that stupid wall in LA was normal and not solid concrete he would probably have four straight seasons of OPS+ over 200 (and 50+ home runs, I’m counting the one in TB)

I genuinely believe Aaron Judge’s 2022 and 2024 seasons may lose him the MVP People would normally be in absolute awe at this type of offensive production but because it’s only his 3rd best season of his last 4, some are now completely numb to it
