@Raamana_ @KordingLab Hm, there is no such thing on Mastodon... We like Mastodon specifically because there is nothing dedicated to our niche subfield and so many different other fields and perspectives. @json_dirs

@KordingLab if people want chat rooms strictly dedicated to their niche subfield, it might be easier to run a Slack channel or Discord server (I’m on many such but they quickly turn into echo chambers) I love Twitter bcoz it enables specific debates while exposing me to diffrnt perspectives

I find that we are reaching the break even point and mastodon (@kordinglab@neuromatch.social) is offering about equal quality of discussions as this place (despite a factor 9 smaller followership). They are just more engaged

Tomorrow (today for some of you) we’ll be talking about nasal sprays like SaNOtize (Enovid) and similar. They’re simple to use & a good addition to a high quality mask. Yes, it’s possible to get them online. No Rx needed. It isn’t a replacement for precautions—it is another tool!

Mastodon's Android client is buggy 😭

@klausenhauser @AstrobioMike @blekhman @ATinyGreenCell Definitely. Same here. Not polluting with private convos is great. On both Tw and M. We just have never used DM to say something about another user where it would have been scary or dangerous if the person had known what we said about them. So we see no problem with the M DM.

Sure, mastodon has issues, but if you invest the time and sign up, join the right server, update your profile, find people to follow, and learn how to navigate the fediverse, you will find the experience is quite disappointing
