GPT-5.4-Pro's attempt to add in a Y-axis: "I treated the hidden y-axis as daily token usage, then anchored it to OpenAI’s public disclosures that GPT‑5‑Codex launched on Sep. 15, 2025 and had served over 40 trillion tokens in the three weeks since launch by Oct. 6. That implies roughly 1.9T tokens/day over Sep. 15–Oct. 5. Matching that window to the chart’s height gives a full-scale top of about 20.6T/day, which I rounded to 21T/day, so the visible gridlines become 0, 7, 14, 21."

The Codex team are hardcore builders and it really comes through in what they create. No surprise all the hardcore builders I know have switched to Codex. Usage of Codex is growing very fast:

For those of you who have daughters in high school ages now, what are you advising them to do after high school? With Ai being such a big issue, where do you guide your children these days?

Rumor: Tesla is going to build its own EUV lithography machines because ASML is “too slow.” to supply to the new chip plant. ASML currently produces <100 EUV machines per year. Apparently that’s not fast enough for Elon Musk. The new plan: • 1,000 EUV machines per week starting 2027 • 10,000 per week by 2028 And since HBM memory is also a bottleneck, Tesla will casually build 10 new memory fabs in the next two years producing 5× the rest of the industry combined. Meanwhile, Micron Technology, SK Hynix, and Samsung Electronics are panicking.

@notsunsakis @bcherny don't call it vibe coding - that's associated with yolo i smash head on keyboard, not thinking, engineering, building, testing, debugging, iterating. agentic engineering, or just...coding. We move faster, but it's still hard.

Has anybody vibe coded their way into product market fit? From the top of my dome: Claude Code: founded in 2024 as an internal tool by @bcherny who prototyped it at Anthropic and within a week nearly half of developers there were using it. Long considered their moat, eventually it was decided to release it to the public. After being so successful internally, this dogfooded product had already found a market fit among the devs and it spread like wildfire. OpenClaw: This tool by @steipete initially named ClawdBot, then at Claude legal department’s request renamed to MoltBot, and eventually OpenClaw along with acquisition by OpenAI and MoltBook by Meta, was another success story that was made real by granting AI executive power, just like Claude Code. These two vibe coded tools share a lot of similarities - they are AI harnesses that give the models that run them agentic power, in other words, permission to edit files autonomously. Any other vibe coded tools found a product market fit?

@daniel_mac8 @OpenAIDevs This. I’ve been using my codex credits to fast so I’ve been ChatGPT thinking extended the more complex challenges and asking it to come up with the prompt for codex. Then I take the codex result back. Zipped up the code files so it has full context.

feature request for @OpenAIDevs: > plan in ChatGPT w/ GPT-5.4 Pro > push plan to Codex app > Codex app breaks the plan down into tasks and builds you can just build things. i'd like to just build things even faster.

Dana White did an 86-hour water fast—and says he felt incredible the whole time. He credits Gary Brecka: “Do 72 hours twice a year. It rips you to shreds externally but rebuilds you internally.” Key claims from the clip: - Body thinks it's dying → releases shock proteins - Sheds bad/dead cells, regenerates new ones - Over 70% reduced risk of Alzheimer’s, cancer & other diseases (per the Boston doctor & studies he referenced) - Worked, trained, and felt so good he could’ve gone 7 days He admits the real battle isn’t hunger after ~48 hours—it’s boredom + constant food triggers everywhere (TV ads, walking past snacks, subliminal pizza during football). Now the whole UFC crew is doing it. Dana: “When everything’s right inside, everything looks good on the outside too.” Tried extended fasting? Felt the “rebirth” effect or just misery? GPT 5.4 is great but damn it’s hungry with your Codex limits. There’s going to be a sea of salt in here when the 2x usage promo ends soon and everyone has to bump to $200/month and still hit their limits.
