According to Fox, President Trump met in the Oval Office with Bondi before his speech last night. My joint statement with @LeaderJohnThune on DHS funding: We appreciate and share the President’s determination to once and for all bring an end to the Democrat DHS shutdown.   In the coming days, Republicans in the Senate and House will be following through on the President’s directive by fully funding the entire Department of Homeland Security on two parallel tracks: through the appropriations process and through the reconciliation process.   We appreciate that Senator Graham and the Senate Budget Committee have already initiated the process of developing a budget resolution that will ensure border security and immigration enforcement will be funded for the balance of the Trump Administration and insulated from future attempts by the Democrats to defund those agencies.   We operated under a belief that while our country is in the midst of an international armed conflict, Democrats might finally come to their senses and understand that defunding our homeland security agencies is beyond reckless and very dangerous. While we hoped they would accept the 60-day CR to fund the Department entirely so that bipartisan negotiations could continue, it is now abundantly clear that Democrats place allegiance to their radical left-wing base above all else — including their own power of the purse — which means open borders and protecting criminal illegal aliens. NEW: An illegal immigrant from Mexico is accused of kidnapping and sodomizing a girl who was under the age of 12 in Lexington, Kentucky. Jorge Luis Martinez-Ulloa came illegally in 2012 (under Obama) & was supposed to leave the country through "voluntary departure," per @ICEgov. He never left. He then victimized the young child Saturday, grabbing her by the arm and neck, trapping her in his apartment, and raping her, according to local reports. The young child didn't know Martinez-Ulloa. She was later hospitalized for her injuries. Martinez-Ulloa is charged with kidnapping of a minor, first-degree strangulation, two counts of first-degree rape involving a victim under 12, two counts of first-degree sodomy involving a victim under 12, and two counts of sexual abuse of a victim under 12.

The single most radicalizing moment of my life was watching Democrats from the balcony of the State of the Union refuse to stand for Iryna Zarutska's mother, seated 15 feet away from me. Now they're tearing down her murals. They never cared about immigrants, it was all a lie.

Some people are already prognosticating that the MAGA movement is fracturing because gas prices have gone up and the war to disarm Iran is taking too long. But here's the truth about that: We are only a month into a war against a huge country of 92 million people, 2.5 times the size of Texas and the 11th most heavily armed country in the entire world. In that light, our military success has been nothing short of totally remarkable. Trump has many times publicly stated that he has no appetite for a long conflict with serious amounts of casualties. But again, considering the size and power of the Iranian regime, 4 weeks is way too soon to jump to judgement. Let's see where we are in two or three months maximum. I suspect that by then Iran will have completely surrendered, a new government will be in place, the strait of Hormuz will be completely open, gas prices will be back to pre-war levels and there will be peace in the middle east for generations to come. Trump has done and is doing things that no other American President has ever been able to accomplish. And he's largely doing it on his own without the support of the supposedly Republican majority in the Senate who should have already "nuked" the filibuster to pass the SAVE ACT and probably a dozen other pieces of legislation to codify Trump's executive orders. Nonetheless, Trump fights on and by the end of his term, America will indeed be great and prosperous again.
