My first step towards the austerity measures envisioned by Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi ji: putting nation first. I was honoured with an invitation to represent Maharashtra, its culture and our glorious handloom heritage at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. A magnificent Paithani from Yeola, crafted with months of dedication by our artisans, was prepared for this special occasion. However, in view of the Prime Minister’s call to minimise international travel and embrace austerity, I have decided to respectfully forgo my visit to Cannes. This was not an easy decision, considering the love, effort and artistry invested in this journey. But when the nation calls, we must always stand by it with sincerity and conviction. My deepest gratitude to every artisan, designer and well-wisher who made this beautiful endeavour possible. The red carpet can wait; the nation always comes first. Jai Hind! I hope you'll be honest. - You booked the Taj Lake Palace 5-star hotel in Udaipur. ~ 40-50 rooms were booked ~ 100-200 guests attended - Wedding placed at The Leela Palace 5-star hotel in Udaipur As per some wedding planners, the normal cost of a wedding at the Taj is ₹1-5 crore. Your net worth is ~₹50 lakh to ₹1+ crore (based on election affidavits on Myneta), so you are obviously not going to waste your entire net worth on just a wedding. So, how did you get so much money to host the wedding at the Taj? Please answer.

I was chatting with a friend yesterday who's son is studying M.S. in the US. There are horror stories of Indians with H1Bs being harassed. People have to leave their homes and jobs and migrate to other states with softer policies. Many are looking for jobs in EU. Some will get rinsed and come back to India. I'm almost certain the threat of manpower harassment and $ scarcity forced the government to sign the deal. Of course, there will be other threats too, but I feel these two are among the major ones.

Outside India, at most places, vegetarians are treated like second-class citizens. They don’t even bother creating proper vegetarian food items. At McDonald’s in India, the veg burgers are good, and the other veg options are great too. In the Netherlands, McDonald’s gives you a cheese slice between two buns in the name of a vegetarian option. They don’t even add vegetables.
