𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮 ₹𝟰𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿. Indian Railways is expected to soon roll out a mega ₹40,000-crore tender to procure 1 lakh freight wagons over the next three to four years. Bengal-based manufacturing giants Titagarh Rail Systems, Jupiter Wagons and Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd. are deemed favourites for the order. The proposed tender, expected to be slightly bigger than the previous large wagon procurement exercise undertaken in 2022, could involve an annual procurement of 35,000–40,000 wagons, and the first set of wagon orders will likely be issued in the second quarter (July–September) of the ongoing fiscal year.

RITES and Indian Railways are developing a standard-gauge Vande Bharat platform for export markets including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Africa and Latin America. Indian Railways targets deployment of 800 Vande Bharat trainsets by 2030 and 4,500 by 2047 across chaircar and sleeper variants.

🚨🇮🇳 India revives massive Oman–Gujarat deep-sea gas pipeline to bypass Hormuz
India is fast-tracking a 2,000 km deep-sea gas pipeline as fears grow over instability in the Strait of Hormuz — one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints.
The proposed $5 billion project would transport up to 31 million cubic meters of gas per day through a direct undersea route, reducing India’s dependence on vulnerable Gulf shipping lanes.
Why it matters:
🔸Much of India’s LNG imports pass through Hormuz
🔸Ongoing conflicts and blockades are driving up energy prices
🔸The pipeline would create a more secure long-term supply corridor
The route could eventually connect India to wider Gulf gas reserves, including Oman, the UAE, and Qatar.

Successfully lowered another of India’s biggest TBM cutter heads at Shaft 3 in Sawli (Ghansoli), 38m below ground level, for the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project. Measuring 13.6m in diameter and weighing 354.5 MT, the cutterhead marks the final step in the primary assembly of the second Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) main shield.

COSCO Shipping, one of the world’s largest container carriers, has reinstated its Singapore–Kolkata SKX1 service, bringing renewed direct maritime connectivity between Southeast Asia’s premier transshipment hub and East India’s most important port. The revival comes at a time of growing trade volumes and shifting supply chain strategies across the Indo-Pacific region.
The reinstated service is expected to support the movement of containerized cargo, including industrial goods, consumer products, machinery, chemicals, textiles, and agricultural commodities. With the emerging realities of the post-China-plus-one supply chain world, East India, especially Bengal, is a clear beneficiary.
