Had my first covid symptoms last weekend and a positive test during the week. Thought by Friday I was out the other side, but this weekend has been even worse: fever and exhaustion and joint pain - fortunately Doug hasn’t wanted to leave my side 🥰😷

I woke up this morning aged 55! I have everything I ever wanted in life, and incredibly grateful (and supremely lucky) to be surrounded by so much. I’m aiming at 55 more, so looking forward to making the most of this peak!

@eperlste @auract @DavidFajgenbaum @fastercures This is a problem in need of a policy fix to be sure. There's OPEN Act and before that there was the Dormant Therapies Act. But pre-COVID, there was very little appetite within Congress to give industry incentives in the form of exclusivity extensions.

We need incentives for drug repurposing in rare diseases. The US incentivizes through the orphan drugs act drug development for rares. What’s the equivalent incentive for repurposing? @DavidFajgenbaum what’s your take on this?

It’s only n-of-1 (as of now) but I still can’t totally wrap my head around the concept that we discovered a drug that’s working in an actual human being! And she’s the first child with her rare disease to ever take this drug. I just want to do it again, and again, and again..
