Despite last summer’s insurer pledge to reduce prior authorization (PA) burdens, only 1 in 3 physicians believe it will have a meaningful impact. ➡️ 95% say PA delays care ➡️ 94% say PA increases burnout ➡️ 26% report PA has led to a serious adverse event for a patient Pledges aren’t enough. Patients deserve better. #FixPriorAuth Read the full results: spr.ly/6012BBvcFM

Grateful to share that I’ve submitted a proposal to the American Medical Association “Community Health Impact Lab Micro Grants Program”, a new national initiative to support physician-led projects that improve health outcomes at the community level. It’s a great initiative focused on strengthening primary care and preventive medicine. Thank you to the @AmerMedicalAssn, Dr John Whyte @drjohnwhyte, Dr Bobby Mukkamala @PresAmerMed, Dr Willie Underwood, for creating opportunities like this that invest in ideas aimed at improving how we care for patients and communities. Primary care is the foundation of a functional health system. It’s one of the main reasons I transitioned from OB-GYN to Internal Medicine, and why I continue my training in Endocrinology—because prevention, education, and continuity of care are where real change happens. Through this proposal, I shared a vision for a scalable, remote, preventive care model designed to reach employees, residents, and underserved populations, meeting people where they are, before disease progresses. I’m excited to keep building, thinking, and contributing toward a future where primary care leads the transformation of healthcare, not reacts to its failures. Primary care is the future. Prevention is the system change Thank you AMA

"The future of the AMA must be both visionary and vigilant...If we are to remain the unified voice of medicine, we must listen deeply, adapt courageously, and welcome broadly. We must work together – because truly together we have more power."- @drjohnwhyte, AMA CEO at #AMAmtg

A recent study suggests that certain exercises -- like riding a stationary bicycle -- actually slow cell decline that can happen as you age. In other words, it’s never too late to reap the benefits of exercise! 💪🏻💪🏽💪🏿 wb.md/47DVnoX
