🚨”Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority; still more when you superadd the tendency of the certainty of corruption by authority.” - Lord Acton

Spirit is shutting down effective immediately, just two years after a blocked merger with JetBlue derailed efforts to avoid bankruptcy. The ultra-low-cost carrier’s closure follows years of financial struggles, marking the end of a major budget airline.

Recommended News and Culture Outlets: Tablet Magazine and the Brownstone Institute! In 2020, when the world turned upside down because of COVID-19 running up to the eventual questionable election win by Joe Biden, these two prestigious media publications, Tablet Magazine and the new entry of Brownstone Institute in 2021, were what I started reading. They offered sharp, independent perspectives amid the chaos, helping make sense of the upheaval in public health, politics, culture, and society. Tablet Magazine is an American online magazine launched in 2009 as a project of the nonprofit Nextbook Inc. It began as an outlet focused on Jewish life, identity, news, and culture but quickly evolved into a broader, influential platform covering “Jewish life and the world.” Its content spans high-quality journalism, long-form essays, commentary, criticism, fiction, podcasts (including the popular Unorthodox), and opinion on topics like politics, war, religion, arts, pop culture, technology, history, sports, lifestyle, holidays, food, Israel, the Middle East, science, and more. Often described as a “must-read for politically and culturally engaged” audiences, it has won National Magazine Awards and built a global readership for its smart, iconoclastic takes that connect Jewish perspectives to wider cultural and current-events conversations. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Tablet provided extensive coverage of Jewish life under the mandates, particularly how politicians like New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo singled out, scapegoated, and targeted Orthodox and Hasidic communities in Brooklyn and elsewhere (such as Borough Park and Williamsburg) for large gatherings, funerals, weddings, schools, and holiday observances that resisted or fell short of strict lockdown rules. Articles exposed double standards (e.g., allowing massive BLM protests while cracking down on Jewish religious events), arbitrary enforcement, community tensions and protests, and the broader impacts on religious freedom and daily life in densely packed Haredi neighborhoods—often providing critical analysis of unfair targeting and policy failures. The Brownstone Institute is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) think tank founded in May 2021 by Jeffrey Tucker (a libertarian economist and writer). Motivated directly by the global policy responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, it focuses on public health, economics, philosophy, scientific discourse, social theory, human rights, and Enlightenment values. Its mission is to “constructively come to terms with what happened” during the lockdowns and mandates, understand why they occurred, explore alternative paths, hold decision-makers accountable, and push for reforms to prevent future erosions of liberty. The outlet publishes articles, books, research, and commentary that defend voluntary interaction, open dialogue, intellectual freedom, and classical liberal principles while critiquing overreach by governments, media, and institutions. Often called the “spiritual child” of the Great Barrington Declaration, it emphasizes rebuilding a post-lockdown society rooted in freedom, prosperity, and enlightened public life. Both outlets stood out during that disorienting period for their willingness to question prevailing narratives; Tablet through its wide-ranging cultural and political lens (including the specific Jewish-community angle on mandates), and Brownstone through its laser focus on pandemic policy fallout and liberty. They remain go-to sources for thoughtful, non-mainstream analysis on the issues that reshaped our world.

This is what pro-terrorism Antifa propaganda by @Eric_Alterman looks like. According to the English professor at Brooklyn College, if Antifa commits violence against you, it’s because you’re a Neo-Nazi and deserve it. How convenient that his political targets are labeled that way.

Furious parents are now demanding the removal of federal funding for over 20 North Carolina public schools after they engaged in mass, coordinated, teacher-led anti-Trump walkouts, forcing the cancellation of classes for more than 700,000 kids. Here’s the list, make some noise.

If you think she regrets this idiocy now that thousands lost their jobs, you don't understand democrats. The results never matter. It's the public show of 'caring about the little guy'- that's the motivation. The whole point. Reality is irrelevant.

I've warned for months that a @JetBlue-@SpiritAirlines merger would have led to fewer flights and higher fares. @JusticeATR and @USDOT were right to stand up for consumers and fight against runaway airline consolidation. This is a Biden win for flyers! apnews.com/article/jetblu…

Back in Los Angeles for one day and around the corner from my front door is a guy with his pants down, a large candle lighter and a clear pipe that he's casually smoking out of. In a neighborhood where 1br rents for $3k and there's multi-million dollar homes. Have to skip across human urine and feces. I would never, ever allow a child by themself to step outside just to play in their own neighborhood. HOW is this acceptable?
