@BGallagherColl Hi Brian are you on any other platforms? Asking for someone who’s not on X but is very keen to follow the Bingham’s bird dramas and see if the “bad article” gets any come uppance.

The big male Mute Swan at Bingham's Pond in Glasgow is what my granny would have called a "bad article". Here he's attacking a duckling (it survived, that time) and harassing the resident Canada geese. He was aggressive before his own partner or any other birds were nesting.

@BGallagherColl Feel sorry for the Canada geese and their diminished brood who’ve been run out of town by the gangster. Hope the 3 goslings they have left make it.

@SkySports can you explain why you often show the same sports event on 2 channels eg Darts at the moment when there are multiple competitions in other sports eg tennis that are only on one channel with commentary and all other matches are on the red button with no commentary.

Hi @EDCouncil I see you plan to close Craigmaddie Rd for 2 weeks and say that an alt route is Auchenhowie Rd. But you have signs out saying Auchenhowie Rd is subject to restrictions for 2 weeks starting today which overlaps the Craigmaddie works by a week. Not a good idea??

@CollingsBerry @UndisScot That’s lovely. I must have driven past this many times en route to Orkney and never even knew it was there! I wonder how often it is used.

I’m a bit of a nerd about trains and railway stations and I love this gem on the Far North Line, the request stop at Dunrobin Castle near Golspie.

@CarlBovisNature I think you need to be careful with Lindt as their truffles and filled bars are likely to contain Palm oil now. I believe they are using it to keep prices down. As far as I know Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate is all free of Palm oil and readily available.

I was just looking for some chocolate WITHOUT palm oil in, in my local Tesco... I couldn't find any! Cadbury, Nestle etc etc all contained bloody palm oil! 😒 Anyone have an idea of chocolate brands that don't use palm oil? 🤔 🍫

@glosswitch Also that public service messaging about crime totally focuses on how the potential victim should act to avoid being a victim and says nothing to the potential/actual perpetrators about changing their behaviour.

I always find it remarkable how much more prominent and accessible official statistics on the sex of victims of crime are compared to that of perpetrators, as if the latter is a bit of a minor detail

@historyrock_ Similarly, in the world of sport an over zealous security person at Wimbledon didn’t recognise Roger Federer (🤷‍♂️8 time champion) who dropped by hoping for some afternoon tea while he had a spare hour in London. The guard wouldn’t let him in without his “membership card”.

In 2007, during his “25 Live” tour, George Michael experienced one of the funniest and most surreal moments of his career. The singer was arriving by car at Wembley Stadium in London to perform one of his concerts (he was one of the first artists to perform at the newly renovated Wembley) As he tried to enter through the back gate with his crew, a very serious and confident security guard blocked his way. The guard, leaning into the car window, insisted: “I’m sorry, I’d recognize him a mile away, and that’s not George Michael.” George, sitting in the back seat, couldn’t stop laughing. The guard remained completely convinced that he was an imposter and even asked for identification before letting him through. A member of George’s team had to step in to pull the guard aside and explain the situation. In the video recorded for the documentary *George Michael: Road to Wembley*, George is seen cracking up and saying, “This is brilliant,” as he mimics the guard: “I’d recognize him a mile away, and that’s not George Michael.” He later said it was one of the best stories that had ever happened to him, comparable to when a doorman in Birmingham told him, “I don’t care if you’re Frank Sinatra, you’re not getting in.” It was a moment of pure comedy that shows just how ironic fame can be. One of the world’s most recognizable artists being treated like a fan trying to sneak in. The guard, of course, became an internet legend years later when the clip resurfaced. George, with his usual sense of humor, took it all in stride and even included it in the documentary.
