Reports now that Hegseth oversold the war to Trump and underestimated Iran's willingness to fight back. It's almost as if he's unqualified for his job. Too bad the Senate didn't have confirmation hearings; those would have proven his manifest unsuitability to lead the Pentagon.

@CatholicDrip___ FYI, I am genuinely asking. Let's start with Baptism. Can you explain? Please use biblical backing for your response.

I am not Catholic. It is important to note that the stations of the cross come from the Bible. Nothing changes just by being Catholic. Perhaps the churches you belonged to before did not focus on these, but they are in the Bible, have always been there, and are very profound (Luke 23:26–33; John 19:16–30). You may not mean to, but your post seems to suggest that you cannot appreciate it the right way unless you are Catholic. Scripture doesn’t support that idea. Understanding Christ is not tied to a denomination, but to knowing Him through His Word: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105 “All Scripture is breathed out by God… that the man of God may be complete.” — 2 Timothy 3:16–17 “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” — John 8:32 Access to Christ is not through a specific church tradition, but directly through Him: “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” — 1 Timothy 2:5 “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” — John 14:6 And Scripture warns against elevating human traditions above God’s Word: “You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.” — Mark 7:8 So no, you don’t need “Catholic eyes” to understand the crucifixion—you need the Word of God and the Spirit of God (1 Corinthians 2:12–14). However, I am very glad to see that your personal experience has expanded your view of the crucifixion. That is a very good thing.

The Passion of the Christ is a Catholic film When it came out, I was a Protestant. I did not fully appreciate what was seeing, although it did impact me As a Catholic, I see it much more clearly: it is a film version of the Stations of the Cross Everything is so much more clear, beautiful and profound when seen with Catholic eyes

@J4ckOfAllTradez @joongkwang @MeachamDr Why not? You can read the bible, you can apply the principles, you can search to see if it is true. Use the same parameters that people who beleive use and see if you come to the same conclusions. Try it, see if it changes your life, if not, what do you lose?

I think you’re mixing categories a bit, and Isaiah isn’t saying what you’re applying it to here. Yes—Scripture does say that David was not allowed to build the temple because he had “shed much blood” (1 Chronicles 22:8). But notice why—it wasn’t because all warfare is inherently sinful, but because God chose his son Solomon, a man of peace, to build it. That’s about God’s specific purpose, not a universal prohibition on war or leadership. In fact, David was still called a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14), and God Himself commanded wars in the Old Testament (e.g., 1 Samuel 15). So Scripture clearly does not teach that all involvement in war makes someone unacceptable to God. As for Isaiah—when it says things like: “When you spread out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you… your hands are full of blood” (Isaiah 1:15) the context is hypocrisy and injustice, not simply warfare. Israel was guilty of oppression, corruption, and unrighteous living while pretending to be faithful. That’s why God rejects their prayers—not because they were involved in conflict, but because they were living in unrepentant sin and injustice. The broader biblical teaching is this: There is a time for peace and a time for war (Ecclesiastes 3:8) Government authorities are given the sword to punish evil (Romans 13:4) God judges unrighteousness, not just the presence of conflict So no—you can’t take Isaiah or David and conclude that anyone involved in war cannot pray or be heard by God. That’s not what the Bible teaches.

Mr. Spock 🖖 (Commentary)
It’s really simple. If you say you are a Christian. You will know the Book of Isaiah. Therefore you’ll know what it’s all about And you will 100% understand what the pope said with 100% clarity. Even David is not allowed to build the temple because he has “shed much blood”

@TaylorRMarshall He did not even know the St. Michael prayer. My two year old son knows this prayer. I am genuinely confused about what he is doing and who he is doing it for. I know I have much to learn, but it would be nice to see a Catholic round table regarding this.

Bishop Robert Barron left his home diocese during Holy Week to attend a White House prayer vigil where President Trump compared himself to Jesus Christ and evangelical advisor Paula White told him, “No one has paid the price like you have paid the price.” Barron clapped after both remarks. In a video he recorded from the Lincoln Memorial afterward, he called the afternoon "a great joy, great privilege" and praised Trump for bringing religious leaders together to celebrate Holy Week.
