@SweeterBrio That’s a whole different discussion, I just wanted to provide you with a team that successfully built around an inconsistent scorer.

@SweeterBrio If I’m not mistaken, Tyrese Haliburton and the pacers were just in the finals a couple months ago. Coaching and roster construction matter!!and until the raptors surround Scottie with players that complement him, he’s going to continue to struggle to score the ball.

Year 5 still talking bout HE COULD
Smart Analytics@Sylitics

@DontBOffended1 It’s not in him to score 40 that’s not his game, but if the raptors decide to surround him with shooting he could go for 25 consistently. Having a bunch of players on the court that shoot in the 30% range isn’t optimizing his abilities.

@SleeperRaptors Improve coaching, and build around Scottie Barnes!!! Surround him with proper shooting and allow for him to play to his strengths which is attacking downhill and creating good looks for others. Players like Rj Barrett and Jakob poeltl will forever keep the raports mediocre.

@ImSoOtto @KPxBI1 @JLew1050 I never said his playmaking fell off or that he was a bad playmaker, just said that there’s room for improvement in that part of his game. I also agree with you, and have said before roster construction and coaching plays a big role into why he’s looked the way he has.

BI’s playmaking didn’t fall off, his role did. Ur coach took the ball out of a primary creator’s hands and put him off ball on a team with no spacing. Of course the numbers drop there’s less opportunity to create anything His role changed The environment got worse for his skillset Off ball playmaking only works if the defense is already in rotation. On a team with no spacing, the defense rarely or if ever has to rotateso there’s nothing to create off of

Scottie Barnes in the back-to-back: 22 assists but just 19 points on 7-22 FG, 0-5 3P, 5-12 FT Darko: “He has a lot on his plate. He’s trying to playmake but we also need him to score. It’s finding that balance.”

@KPxBI1 @ImSoOtto @JLew1050 Ingrams playmaking hasn’t been good this season. Averaging only 3.6 assists a game while having 2.5 turnovers a game, shows there’s room for improvement in that aspect. Roster construction also does play a part in this.

@juhmal_ @JLew1050 I hear that he’s more than talented enough to do so. I just feel like with the right players and coaching around him it’ll happen but given the way the raptors are currently constructed and what’s asked of him on both sides of the floor. It may be too much of an ask currently

@Sylitics @JLew1050 Agree, coaching staff does have to run him plays. But CMB got 20 tn, you think plays were ran for him? He got tough buckets efficiently. Telling me Scottie can’t do that? Even RJ just puts his head down and finds ways to score in the paint. Scottie simply doesn’t try to score

@akqs56 @Raptors @McDonaldsCanada Most definitely should have, but instead they traded a second round pick for a player who since joining the raptors is averaging 1.8ppg and 2.1 rebound’s per a game

@TheNFLRecruit @DontBOffended1 I disagree, more shooting on the court opens the paint up for him and allows him to drive and get to the rim with ease. The Raptors are one of the few teams in the league still constructed like it’s 2008, spacing kills and is needed in today’s nba.

@Sylitics @DontBOffended1 No he wouldn’t, you surround him with shooters and he becomes even more passive as he’ll want to consistently pass out, you see it all the time, the more scorers around Scottie the more deferring he is, dudes draymond Green but being payed like Giannis

@ImSoOtto @JLew1050 Idk about other people, but I believe the same logic applies with Ingram. If the raptors had actual shooting threats on the floor teams wouldn’t be able to just load up on Ingram, but I do think his playmaking needs to improve a little. Maybe that’ll happen with better spacing.

@juhmal_ @JLew1050 I agree that he should be more aggressive, but that plays into what I said about coaching. When was the last time you’ve seen a play drawn up for Scottie Barnes to get a easy bucket? It’s also on the coaches to put their best players in position to score.

@Sylitics @JLew1050 Thats bs. Multiple times for the last few games, he’ll be wide open from even the free throws line but he’ll pass the ball up. By that same logic… if he is surrounded by below average shooting, maybe try taking shots yourself???

Will I be silenced by @ZaZuOke, @ESPNneedsIKD, @SBDAGOAT4ONE, and @Persevere21 for simply trying to say that we can't get too high off of one Orlando game? we have 5 years of a sample size. he's a supercharged draymond green, not a franchise PG.

@Luis09141 @Raptors @McDonaldsCanada It’s tough to watch, the coaching staff needs to bring back the reigns and get him to do less. He’s great playing off ball, cutting and getting to the rim but having him initiate offense doesn’t work. Gotta focus on what he does well!!

That's in the running for worst loss of the season, all things considered. Raptors entered this back-to-back in 5th place. After losses to the Cade-less Pistons and last-place Kings, they're 7th. Hawks are 1.5 games up for 5th. Raps/Sixers both 42-34 but Philly has the tiebreaker

rj barrett is extremely flawed and limited as an offensive player. He should be used in actions that allow for him to curl off screens and attack downhill going left preferably. Raptors can’t have him trying to initiate offense!!
