We've now enabled 10 MW of solar power capacity, covering the equivalent of ~7 rugby fields in solar panels. Those panels power schools, retirement homes, farms and other organisations across South Africa, with sustainable, affordable, reliable electricity from the sun. ☀️

@GaopalelweBigG @AntonEberhard We had loadshedding yet the R210bn investment of Renewable Energy IPPs can't generate more than 500MW during these critical hours.

The IPP Office ran hugely successful procurements for new power between 2011-14, securing +R200 billion in investment. Molefe & Koko stalled procurements between 2015-18 and Mantashe took until 2021 to open bid window 5. Now need to crack on..... ow.ly/10xq50JinfC
