"Most video content is poorly produced, but if it serves a purpose for your business, it's worth doing in high volumes" The best subject-matter-expert commentary changes the way you think about something, and @vriparbelli of @synthesiaIO just did that! Turns out @HarryStebbings is even better at crowd control than he is at interviewing!!!!

Earlier this month, the Chancellor expressed an ambition for the UK to become the fastest adopter of AI in the G7. The credibility of that ambition will ultimately be determined by whether the UK is also producing AI companies with the ability to define categories, serve global customers, and compete at the highest level. @synthesiaIO got started in London because the UK provides access to amazing talent and capital, as our chief of staff Laura Gonzalez Florez told the BBC. We have grown by creating products used by some of the world’s largest organizations, which include AI technologies that help people work and learn better like the interactive learning experiences described by our head of research Youssef Alami Mejjati in the clip below. The opportunity for the UK is not simply to adopt AI quickly, but to build enduring companies that shape how AI is used positively around the world. That means, as Lord @KulveerRanger says, creating an environment in which ambitious companies can start here, attract exceptional talent, innovate and develop globally relevant products, and scale with confidence from a British base. We are proud to represent a model of what is possible when a UK company combines strong technical ambition with genuine global reach, and hope many others will follow in our footsteps.

Two of the perks of working at @synthesiaIO are that you get to be around very smart people who are curious enough to try things for themselves, and that you get to see how generative AI is applied to build amazing experiences that weren't possible before. A story in @BusinessInsider that's out today brings both to life. Our general counsel, Gabe Stern, spoke to @meliarobin about a Video Agent he created to handle the mundane parts of a commercial conversation: businessinsider.com/synthesia-gene… This is, of course, a great proof point for how versatile our new agentic products are, and how they can be easily applied to create new enterprise apps (Gabe built the agent in just a few weeks). But it also says something much more important about the kind of company Synthesia is becoming, and what AI means for the enterprise space. With this technology, great ideas will not be confined to just one function. Given the right tools and platforms, talented people will find new ways of applying technology to be more productive. In other words, they will work better, and do more with more. The second thing it says is that we are living through a shift in what software can actually do. Not long ago, most teams used software to store information, move tickets, and automate workflows. Now we are starting to see AI participate in interactions that used to depend on a person being present for every step of the conversation. That is what makes this moment so exciting for me. We are able to watch AI move into forms of work that were previously out of reach, and that is a big part of the energy at Synthesia right now.

In my role at @synthesiaIO , I spend a lot of time explaining why enterprises are replacing text and slides with AI video. Peter Hill and Carly Rogers do this very well in an interview with @akashpasricha of @theinformation TV today.

One of the most frequently asked questions that we get at @synthesiaIO is: "What is the value that you can get out of using AI video in the enterprise?" Today is your lucky day because we went on @theinformation's TiTV show to give an answer during a chat with @akashpasricha

"The core DNA of a great company is going to be great people." Even as AI agents spread throughout workplaces, Synthesia CEO Victor Riparbelli (@vriparbelli) thinks they'll only make the value of human contact go up. "A lot of people will still want to have that real connection," he says. It's a bit ironic coming from the co-founder of a startup unicorn that helps businesses make AI videos for use cases like training. But Victor says even in @synthesiaIO, he wouldn't use his own product to deliver high-impact messages to his team. "You wouldn't break up with someone over text message, that's kind of rude, right?" he tells @UpstartsMediaCo. Has anyone dumped someone using a Synthesia video? "Not yet." Synthesia founder Victor Riparbelli (@vriparbelli) has always been drawn to counterculture ideas. "Life's more interesting at the fringes," he says. The problem with fringe ideas? "Most of them are wrong. But the few that are right are very, very valuable." At @synthesiaIO, that meant originally trying to build AI film tools for Hollywood -- then realizing there was a bigger opportunity helping business turn boring PowerPoints into interactive videos. Initially rejected by nearly 100 investors, Riparbelli now works with more than 90% of the Fortune 100, from Amazon to Merck, reaching $150M in ARR and a valuation of $4B. On The Upstarts Podcast, Victor traces his journey from selling World of Warcraft characters as a teenager in Denmark to building one of AI’s most surprising startup success stories in London. He shares his Upstart Moment winning over billionaire Mark Cuban (@mcuban) — as well as how Synthesia has navigated deep fake fears and AI skepticism — and why he believes honesty is a rare, underrated competitive advantage in the current AI startup landscape. Peacock is launching “Your Bravoverse,” a vertical video experience guided by an AI-generated version of Andy Cohen built with @synthesiaio. Viewers pick the shows and moments they care about, and the app serves a personalized stream of clips with Andy narrating the journey across more than 600 billion possible variants. But to understand why this matters beyond entertainment, you have to look at what Peacock is really building. It is building a personalized video interface at scale. The host is the guide, but the breakthrough is the system underneath: assemble the right content for the right person, in the right tone, on the right screen, with almost no friction. That personalized and interactive experience powered by AI video is soon coming to the workplace, and it'll change how we learn and develop as professionals.

Most trend-setting companies start as fringe ideas. "The problem with fringe ideas is that most of them are wrong. But the few that are right are very, very valuable, right?" says @synthesiaIO CEO Victor Riparbelli (@vriparbelli). "For me it was always: 'Am I crazy, or is there something here?'" "What always kept me afloat was the fact that there were a select few people I really, truly respected who were like, 'This is going to happen,' even though 99% of people would tell me the opposite."
