Unbelievable, but true. 150 Miles The distance the F-15 crew member traveled to get rescued, and he did it in 24 hours. That isn't even the amazing part. The amazing part is that he moved 150 miles north to a location that is just 19 miles from the IRGC Missile Base that USA has been bombing all week. The base is MASSIVE! 20 KM in length, hundreds of launch sites, and just South of the city of Isfahan (pop. 2 million). According to Trey Yingst, the CIA deceived the IRGC into believing that the USA was conducting a maritime exfil of the downed crew member. Even more amazing, this operation took place mere 25 miles from the Isfahan Nuclear Facility where Iran is believed to be storing 460kg of 60%+ enriched uranium. The USA just proved our ability to land multiple fixed-wing aircraft, deploy 100+ troops on the ground, dominate the battlespace, and exfil. The USA reportedly lost several aircraft during the operation. They were likely hit by indirect fire from the IRGC base after landing, and or by SAM's brought into Iran by Russia this last week. This is without the completion of the bombing campaign on the IRGC base. Once complete, the USA will take control of the enriched uranium in Isfahan. Make no mistake about it. The USA SOF just had a practice run, deep in enemy territory, and they completed their real-world objective.

For those in the American media—and in Iran—who struggle to read the president, here’s a translation into your language of his latest statement: “Dear IRGC leaders: The United States military just extracted a single American, alive, from inside your territory. Not one American life was lost in the process. Take that as a demonstration. We can concentrate overwhelming firepower anywhere in your country. We can go where we want and do what we want, and there is very little you can do to stop us. Your one remaining card is your ability to strike civilian infrastructure in the Gulf—countries that once tried to restrain me. That card no longer works. Your terror attacks have turned them from hesitant partners into supporters of your defeat. And I refuse to be deterred by this terror tactic. If we can pull a pilot off a mountaintop, we can send forces to seize uranium and destroy your underground missile complexes. I am prepared to do all that if I have no choice. But to do it without losing American lives, I must first take down dual-use infrastructure—bridges, power plants, energy grids. That will set your country back decades. So let’s be clear. Cut a deal on uranium, missiles, and proxies. Stop attacking Gulf states and Israel. Open the Strait to international shipping. If you don’t, we will act with overwhelming force to protect our interests. Thank you for your attention to this matter. —DJT”

This is a Truth Social post by the president. Something about suggests it wasn't drafted by a staffer and approved by a committee.

@theobjectivist And where does the money really go? Does it actually go to hard working, struggling family that keeps getting curb stomped by billionaires? Or does it go to welfare queens, mountain dew, lobster, Ukraine and Israel?

Bernie thinks this is "fair" because he starts from the premise that your wealth belongs to the collective and you are permitted to keep what it decides you don't need. "You'd still have $2.5 billion" is not an argument for fairness. It is a looter calculating how much he can take before the victim fights back. Fairness is not determined by how much the victim has left. It is determined by whether the taking was justified. A man who robs you of $100 and leaves you $1,000 has not been "fair." He is still a thief. Rights are not proportional to net worth. They are absolute.
Bernie Sanders@BernieSanders

Ok, Jamie: Let me clear things up for you. If my 5% wealth tax on billionaires was enacted you’d owe $135 million more in taxes & a family of 4 making $150,000 or less would receive a $12,000 payment. Oh, and you’d still be worth more than $2.5 billion. Seems pretty fair to me.

I fucking hate the “minimum wage is for high schoolers” talking point. A. No it isn’t, that’s historically inaccurate. B. Telling a kid to work hard and earn money the “right” way, then turning around and saying he deserves less just because of his age is bullshit. Pay should be based on performance. Nothing else. If you’re against raising the minimum wage, that’s fine. Make a better argument that isn’t belittling kids trying to work hard and earn something for themselves.

My insurance is trying to determine if they're going to cover Littlest Mans NICU stay and called with questions. Ins: Why did you pick X hospital for your child? Me: I didn't, I was told after I came out of surgery at Y hospital that they were transferring him to X because it was the closest NICU and he was not breathing on his own reliably. They'd already started the process without me. Ins: Okay and why did you pick Y hospital initially? Me: Well I was actively bleeding out from a ruptured placenta and it was the closest one, I was trying not to die. Are you not aware this was an emergency c section at 34 weeks? And also Y hospital is in network. Ins: Yes but if you had gone to in network hospital Z you could have transferred to an in network NICU. Me: *Googles* That's 2.5hrs away. I was bleeding out. I had to receive 2 pints of blood and I was only bleeding for 30 minutes before they started my transfusion. I would have been dead if I drove there. Ins: Well it transfers to the appropriate NICU for your plan, next time please try to go there. Lol okay, next time I'm pregnant and bleeding out I'll be sure to do that. This is insane.

Younger Millennials and Zoomers are among the most anti-establishment generations in American history. They hate almost every single institution in this country because they blame the powers that be for ruining their lives. They would love nothing more than to see the entire managerial apparatus systematically gutted, but they don't really know what should replace it.

Some people, particularly on the Left, believe that Trump's collapsing poll numbers with the under-30s are because he's not Progressive enough for them. That is not the reason why. His approval is collapsing with younger voters because they're still struggling economically. At best, they've been treading water since he took office, but that means very little to them because their quality of life took an absolute nosedive under Biden. We live in a decidedly non-ideological age. Younger people disapprove of Trump not for ideological reasons, but because of a combination of quality of life, vibes, and the fact that he appears to have not gone far enough in taking a sledgehammer to the existing DC establishment. What younger people want more than anything is to be able to get a well-paying job, buy a house, start a family, and see Washington DC burn to the ground from their front porch. Insofar as they see these things are not happening, they'll continue to sour on anyone and everyone in politics who comes along.

I share about 100 yards of drive way with my ~70yr old neighbors. For some reason he’s obsessed with knocking down the center grass in the middle of the tire ruts and covering it with gravel. He talks about it all the time, probably 30% of all conversations I have with him are about this. He’s asking if I want to pitch in for more gravel, etc. When I put my parents in a guest house behind the barn, my dad started talking about it too. He got some roundup and sprayed his section of road. Am I missing something here? I see no problem with it. It looks fine. It occupies 0% of my mind. I’m prepared to spend 0 dollars to remedy this “problem” What is happening?

My tech sent me this photo and I saw it had 57 comments already. My heart sank. We were getting flamed in a local Facebook group. I opened it as fast as I could and was just hoping I could do some damage control. To my surprise, nearly all 60 comments were positive towards our company. Many of our customers backed up our service. Most people thought it was lame that the OP was anonymous. This was phenomenal, free marketing for us. The poster deleted it after 100 or so positive comments. Huge win for the brand today.

My MIL has had her debit card information stolen so many times that her bank blacklisted her permanently. She canceled the card and went to her bank, and they told her they would give her an ATM card only. When she spoke to the manager, he said she was deemed too high risk to have a debit card with them any longer. She's not elderly or unintelligent. She just exists mentally in a world where you should be able to trust people. A world that doesn't exist. The punishment for scamming should be so severe that the idea of trying it is horrifying. For scammers living in South Asia and Nigeria, we should sanction their countries so heavily that their governments are forced to crackdown so severely that the idea of scamming someone gives them nightmares. I know too many people who are simply far too trusting who have been taken advantage of. From cars to debit cars.

The thing about tofu is if you eat it in a Western restaurant it’s awful. They treat it as a meat “substitute”. Its texture is weird and it never seems to soak up the “right” flavors from what its cooked with. But if you get it from an authentic Asian restaurant, where they treat it as a foodstuff, instead of a “substitute” it’s not bad. It’s in dishes where its texture works fine, it gets simmered into spicy sauces that actually taste good. It’s a whole new tofu. Ma Po, Crispy Fried with Peanut Sauce, Soondobu. They’re great. The problem is American (and I assume European) vegetarians have no idea how to use it. (Pictured: Chinese pork-stuffed tofu)

There's something very lame about these tales. These ostensibly adult guys whining about how they thought they were entitled to something they weren't. Wanting mom and dad to "make them a millionaire." Something very unbecoming, kind of pitiful, and very entitled. People like to act like in the grand old days people had a sense of stewardship and would help their children blah blah blah. Yeah, maybe some if they had some money, but certainly not if they were entitled brats and thinking you deserve your parents house and that they will move from their house into the grave is extremely entitled. People think they deserve more now than ever before in the past. The fact he's an only child is the buried lede here. Spoiled only children often have main character syndrome and think the world revolves around them because for all of their childhood it kind of does. Of course he thought his parents would just somehow, in their last dying breath, care only about him and nothing else. Lastly, I wonder how many people like this even have families of their own. Sorry to break it to you, but if you are a single person with no children why would you think you would deserve any inheritance? You are making the choice not to carry on the family so why would you deserve anything? You are only one person, you're fine on your own.
daz@MetamateDaz

a friend’s boomer parents bought their home for $67,000 in 1993. Today, it’s worth ~$1,200,000 and he’s their only son so he thought he’d be a millionaire when they die but they just sold the house last week to enjoy their retirement 💀

Every winter we get the same brave speeches from the new Transplants with New York or New Jersey plates still rattling around on the back of the car. They see the forecast, a half inch of ice, and grin like we just announced a light dusting of powdered sugar. “Back home this wouldn’t be nothin’,” they say. “We’d get two feet and still make it to work.” And listen… they ain’t wrong. Up there, snow falls all fluffy and polite. It stacks up like pillows. Plow trucks roll through like a well-rehearsed parade. Salt gets thrown around like bird feed at a wedding. Life keeps moving. Kids might even still have school, just wearing boots that cost more than our first car. But down here, In North Carolina, about halfway between Maine and Florida, winter don’t fall, it coats. We don’t get a snow globe. We get a Krispy Kreme glaze on every road, tree limb, and power line in three counties. Snow is soft. Ice is mean. Snow lets you shovel. Ice dares you to try standing up. Snow piles up on branches. Ice snaps ‘em in half and sends ‘em into power lines like nature’s game of pick-up sticks. So when a Southerner hears “half an inch,” we don’t picture sledding. We picture sitting in the dark, wrapped in three blankets, opening the fridge one time like it’s a sacred ritual, and realizing you will not, in fact, be heating up that pork roll this morning. Because the power company is somewhere down a back road staring at a pine tree that just suplexed a transformer. Bless the Yankees, though. First ice storm down here is a rite of passage. That confident little smirk fades right around the moment their driveway turns into a curling rink and the whole neighborhood goes quiet except for branches popping in the woods. That’s when they learn. Up north, winter is a season. Down here, ice is an event.

My kids forest preschool class once came upon a turtle. As they observed him, a raccoon approached from the periphery. "They're going to be friends!" said the kids. The raccoon began viciously clawing the turtle, trying to drag it away. For weeks after we would find our 3 year old sitting by himself and mournfully whispering "Turtle. Raccoon. Ohhh nooo."
