Boston College has fired Earl Grant, sources told @Thefieldof68. 

Grant was 72-92 in five seasons with the Eagles. 

BC finished 11-20 this season, 4-14 and did not qualify for the NCAA tourney. He was a surprising hire in 2022 by current Penn State AD Pat Kraft.

@Joel_Haas1 -When is Pat Kraft going to be forced to answer for having the worst combined men’s and women’s programs in major college basketball. He’s the common denominator. Time to step up financially and give those programs what they need to compete.

@Joel_Haas1 -PSU failed badly in the portal last year, but given Rhoades’ history of recruiting talent, how many of those failures were caused by being outbid by schools with more resources.

@JonSauber Unless Kraft is going to quadruple the NIL investment, this is a big, fat nothing burger. I can recommend players they can’t sign too.

@KevinHornePSU Agee with this. The biggest statement yet that the administration is simply content with cashing their B1G Network checks will be keeping Rhoades without improving his resources. Season has been a disaster, but he has remained a good soldier, so why bother. Few will complain.

@THess_PSU92 It's complicated, right? Embarrassment requires any meaingful number of people actually caring. Sandy hired and extended Kieger. Pat fumbled Shrews and we ended up with this. Had Shrews worked out at ND, the pressure would probably be greater. But maybe not, because few care.

I think about the excellence of Shayne Van Ness et. al. in contrast with Penn State Basketball, whose bus should be pulling up behind the BJC any moment now on way back from getting blown out by Rutgers, and can only laugh.

Penn State Athletics released its financial reports for the 2024-25 fiscal year. Some numbers on men's basketball: Total operating expenses was $15,001,847, including $3,004,666 spent on NIL rev share. Total operating revenue was $15,174,025, so PSU men's basketball generated a net surplus of $172,178

@KevinHornePSU 💯I felt like it did beforehand, but this certainly makes it easier. Centre Co. judge’s also scrutinizing felony ARD cases recently too, which may have played a role.
