Exams are the fairest way to assess students. All other methods increase bias, and advantage for advantaged children. It amazes me that people who purport to care about disadvantage still champion these methods.

@edwinhayward People can be motivated by issues that don’t concern or impact them. I’m concerned by universal credit but it’s not something the directly impacts me.

Around 90% of vehicles are ULEZ compliant or exempt. Many of the rest will get replaced, though their owners may be reluctant or angry to have to do so. So it will only stay a "live" issue for a tiny fraction of the population. Not something to build a GE campaign around.

@Headteacherchat Walk, every single day. Make sure you spend time with kids during the day, especially when it’s crunch periods. Go and visit the community, do home visits, get out of school during daylight hours.

My office is getting e mails from across the country about @OVOEnergy and its thuggish methods. This one is not untypical - an unwilling customer being threatened and bullied about bills he doesn't owe based on Ovo's fanciful estimate of usage. If you're being bullied get help.

I'll tell you what is proper scummy, backhanded references (or phone calls) to prevent perfectly good teachers who didn't buy into some toxic BS from moving on with their careers. This is endemic in education, some proper vindictive slyness out there.
