@LewisCTech @abdimoalim_ On this day, 25 years ago, I was probably pimping my Enlightenment window manager config. It was glorious.

I remember when Linux was about getting work done, not turning your desktop into a neon anime circus and pretending a tiling window manager is the holy grail of productivity.

@DemocraticWins Bill Nye the Politics Guy? I guess at some point, he stopped teaching kids science and went hard into liberal causes, but it's a loss for all who benefited from his centrist science.

I found it to be a very typical habit of Linux developers and UI designers to think having more choice is always better and so the UIs tend to be terribly cluttered with endless options, in order to make everyone happy (and nobody productive). Preference settings in most Linux/Open Source apps are just an absolute nightmare.

@TK512 @WSJ Ones I have heard: - there were weapons being stored at the hospital - there was a "hamas camera" on top of the hospital

@LewisCTech @WSJ Luckily they have a flowchart for that. The hospital harbored terrorists, right?

My toddler can swap pads on a disc brake. Real men have that weird tool with the hook for removing those little springs on drum brakes. And they know how to punch out the oval to access the star wheel. A little-known fact is that you can only do one side of a drum brake setup at a time, because no one is left who remembers how they go together from scratch.
Tim@TimurNegru

Men, hands up if you can change your own brake pads.

@KilianMuster @SnazzyLabs I am not sure what you mean by Linuxified, but what I've noticed is a lot of users spend more time in what is essentially web apps or Electron apps. UX is never ideal. This negatively affects native apps across all platforms, sadly.

I got used to it. Been on the Mac since 1993. I still think it’s a turn for the worse. Little by little the UI gets Linuxified - instead of streamlining the UI and making good defaults they keep on pushing all towards the user, adding options endlessly. That’s just lazy. And makes stuff more complicated. Nowadays many actions take way more clicks than they used to on macOS. Even on iOS they added an extra tap to see your app updates with iOS 26.4 this shit keeps creeping in little by little.

@PThorpe92 Equivalent in macOS. Getting the call stack using lldb. I think gstack is just a wrapper though?

Tesla FSD saves a school bus full of children! My Model Y Performance braked so hard that everything on my seats ended up on the floor. It infuriates me that school bus drivers are allowed to be this bad at driving. In an autonomous future, more lives will be saved like this.

Update on Claude Code. Things are back to normal. 30 minutes in. 6 Claude Code agents running Claude Opus 4.6 in parallel. Only 11% usage on the 5 hour session limit. Yesterday I burned through 100% in under an hour. Today the pacing is exactly where it should be. Back to building. Back to Claude Code.

@PalPress24 Let's hope this is not true... if it is, that'd be completely insane. But looked at the wounds, definitely not cigarette burn marks (I've seen that).

The child who was subjected to torture (including having cigarettes extinguished on his body and a metal rod inserted into his feet in front of his father)— In a delayed video released by the occupation, the moment of his handover to the International Committee of the Red Cross is documented in the “Yellow Line” area east of Gaza, days after he was detained along with his father. During his detention, he was subjected to severe abuses, while his father remains imprisoned by the occupation to this moment.
