I don't think JK Rowling really understands sports as a concept because what do you mean individual players can bring their own vastly superior equipment that gives them an advantage.

@LoveandPaice @nhsswipecard The next layer of "why" is that L. monocytogenes is intrinsically resistant to broad spectrum cephalosporins, which is why you have to cover with a penicillin/cotrim

@nhsswipecard IMO I wouldn't expect a physio AP or PA to know this. For those who are interested, ampicillin/amoxicillin cover a for a Gram +ve species of bacteria known as Listeria monocytogenes which can be fatal if causative organism. If pen. allergy co-trimoxazole or chloramphenicol.

If you ask the average physio ACP or physician associate why ampicillin is added for elderly high-risk patients with suspected meningitis (+ cephalosporin), they will blank out.

If student ACPs (paramedics, physios, podiatrists, OTs…) and PAs don’t study microbiology in depth, how are they allowed to prescribe antibiotics and antifungals, given the risk of hepatotoxicity? This prescribing course does not cover microbiology at medical student level. Discuss

@Msamalam He goes all around the country and takes an interest in regional food, drinks, history, and even dialects. It's just genuinely charming and contrasts against a domestic government most feel serves the interests of the elite (primarily) and the south east (secondarily)

An experimental arm designed to test reduction in parachute failure rates demonstrates a 90% reduction... but this led to only a 1 second improvement in life! One second!! How worthless!! Disclaimer: we stopped measuring the benefit of the "life saved" once people touch ground (dead or alive). Below is what happens when bad faith actors get their hands on statistics.
Joe Rogan Podcast News@joeroganhq

Dr. Aseem Malhotra: "If you take a statin for 5 years after a heart attack... in that 5 year period, how much would you think or hope it would add to your life expectancy?" Joe Rogan: "25%? 30%?" Malhotra: "Just over 4 days."
