@Jacked_Mormon @KimballCall yeah, but try being that missionary who did come home early for medical reasons and still being told you aren't good enough because you didn't finish your mission...by the stake president no less...

@KimballCall You are 100% correct. I’ll go a step further. We shouldn’t celebrate missionaries who come home early. The expectation is 2 years. If you serve less than that for reasons other than medical, you didn’t serve a full time mission. This usually really gets people upset.

Yesterday, I made the case that having high expectations for our youth in the Church is very good for them when its done with high love. The kids aren't fragile. The adults on X, however ... well, that's another story.

@ThisMomSaid I was curious, so he asked Grok. Without posting the full thread, it said "Credible studies generally indicate that homeschooled students who return to or transition into public school perform at or above the level of their public school peers academically"

@dustinharding I figured that Aladdin was an actual prince, but then Jafar used his magic to make Aladdin back into a beggar. Showing that while good can improve people, evil only tears people down.

Kids were watching Aladdin yesterday and it suddenly hit me: Aladdin’s first wish was never granted. He never became an actual prince. If Aladdin’s wish were truly granted, it wouldn’t have been a lie to say he was a prince. There would have been no legal issues for him to marry Jasmine. Jafar’s wishes to become a powerful sorcerer and genie actually changed who he was and what he could do. Aladdin, on the other hand, only played dress up.

@jmbrim3 It tells about a Norwegian explorer, Thor Heyerdahl. who built a raft using traditional methods and natural resources (no metal or nails) in Peru and then sailed it across the Pacific Ocean using the Humboldt Current and trade winds to see where he would end up at.

People love to talk about and debate whether the Book of Mormon fits the Mesoamerican Heartland, or Baja model best, but what if I told you we know where Hagoth ended up? 👀 My Polynesian mission companions patriarchal blessing said he was a descendent of Hagoth. Blew my mind!

@LibertyJen My dad had the same thing for lunch at work every day for as long as I remember, 3 sandwiches and 2 ding dongs. I know this because we kids took turns each week making the sandwiches and packing his lunch.

@LibertyJen Your full of shit if you think your parents didn’t go eat off the dollar menu etc by themselves or your dad who work ate off the food truck every few days.

@1000HolyPlaces @alt_prog Maybe 2 or 3 times a year, we would go out for pizza as a family. Generally though if we were eating out, it was mom, dad, and one of the kids who was celebrating something (like graduation), not the whole family.

@alt_prog Dude. We lived through it. You didn't. People had sit-down meals as a family AT HOME. That was the norm. You do not get to tell us how we lived during a time you were not even around and have no memory of. Sit down.

I always mean to eat the heels of bread, but I almost never do. So, I don't throw them away when they are the last 2 pieces left. I let them sit in the drawer until they go moldy. And then I throw them away.

@defense_of_fam Remember that the atonement may wipe away the sins, but you may still have to deal with the physical/mortal consequences of that sin. For instance, if you get an STD from breaking the law of chastity, you have to deal with that. That's one reason why it's better not to sin.

If the atonement of Jesus Christ can wipe away all sin, why is it better to not sin than to sin and repent? Or is it? I have my own thoughts, but I’m curious about what others think.

I average about 12 likes and 200 impressions when I post my bird photos. But I just really like birds, so I share them anyways. This is a mountain bluebird, one of the prettiest birds in North America. This is the only one I've ever seen in Utah.

If anyone says the term “A real Latter Day Saint…” in their post, only to judge them and put others down… I think you’re missing the plot. Also? “My LDS friends”… slander, slander, slander, judgement, judgement, judgement… “friend”? Okay… rant over.
