😡 So violence against teachers is encouraged by a social media platform? So Chinese govt is restricting tiktok use 4kids b/c it “corrupts them.” If we tolerate tiktok “slap a teacher challenge” and don’t start slapping the cancel button on tiktok-shame on us. It won’t end here.

If we have to give homework to make school work, maybe we need to rethink how school works. We built the construct, which means we can rebuild it, too. Time for us to get our house in order, and maybe this time we’ll consider how to better serve those we invite into our home.

Unpopular opinion but I’ll share it anyway: principals have been amazing this schoolyear. Thankless job. Angry parents. Constantly changing directives from politicians. Staff feeling beat down. Kids in crisis. And they showed up amid the chaos and did their best.
