We were proud to host, alongside @ThompsonsLaw and all our affiliated unions, this wonderful event to celebrate the Centenary of the @TUGroupOfLabMPs and mark the passing of the Employment Rights Act. Labour was formed by the labour movement to elect workers to Parliament, to govern in the interests of working people and their communities - and the Trade Union Group of Labour MPs has spent 100 years holding Labour to that mission. Health and safety isn't red tape, it's what keeps people safe at work. @LeeBarronMP paid tribute to Kenny Campbell Smart, who very sadly died at Corby Steel Works earlier this year, and raised the importance of strengthening health and safety laws to keep all workers safe.

On Workers' Memorial Day, we remember all those who have lost their lives to work-related illness or injury. Key to keeping people safe at work is a strong, organised union in every workplace. Remember the dead, fight for the living! #IWMD26

Today we remember those who lost their lives, or suffered injury and illness, through their work. On International Workers' Memorial Day, we reflect on the progress made and the work still left to do, something the Government's Employment Rights Act will help to achieve.
