Texas Democrats With Disabilities

After I was shot, I had to relearn how to talk one word at a time. Today, I still struggle to speak but I have not lost my voice—and I’m using it to urge all Americans to vote for @KamalaHarris and @Tim_Walz tomorrow.

My family holds this country close to our hearts. I was shot and nearly killed serving the people of Arizona. So I ask my fellow patriots to reject Trump’s calls for violence and retribution. Let’s elect @KamalaHarris and put this dark chapter behind us once and for all.

Trump saying he has a physical ailment as a result of getting shot is incredibly, and almost unbelievable, but he said it. To those who are truly disabled, this type of rhetoric inexcusable.

Another failed GOP effort to fund the government. @GOPHouseOfRep is playing a dangerous game with American lives right now. Veterans are about to lose access to benefits. Employees are about to not get paid. Either do your job or let @HouseDemocrats lead and do it.

BREAKING: @TheJusticeDept investigative report released today confirms five Texas Juvenile Justice facilities are in violation of the U.S. Constitution, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). A 2020 complaint filed with the DOJ by DRTx and @TexasAppleseed led to an extensive investigation into allegations of abuse and discrimination of these children and found these facilities engaged in a “pattern of abuse, deprivation of essential services and disability-related discrimination that seriously harms children and undermines their rehabilitation.” Read our press release posted minutes ago to learn more about the DOJ’s findings and recommended remedial measures.
