How much of your hard earned money can Perfect Game get? The STAY TO PLAY model is disgraceful and I think people deserve the truth! Here is the actual Perfect Game lodging policy! PERFECT GAME TOURNAMENT LODGING POLICY: Stay-to-Play Requirement This event is designated as a Stay-to-Play tournament. Perfect Game works closely with the local lodging community in our host cities to provide competitive rates, secure sufficient room inventory, and ensure a high-quality experience for all attending teams. WHO MUST COMPLY Teams traveling more than 75 miles from the primary host venue are required to secure hotel accommodations through Perfect Game's official lodging platform, EventConnect, or pay the designated Hotel Waiver Fee. This policy ensures every team meets the lodging compliance minimum while maintaining flexibility in how requirements are met. LODGING REQUIREMENTS Each traveling team must reserve an average of eight (8) rooms per night for the duration of the tournament. The required total room nights are calculated as follows: 8 rooms × (number of tournament days − 1) = total required room nights *For event durations longer than 7 days, the max number of required room nights is 48. Most of the glaring issues that have compounded over the last decade can be traced back to PE’s arrival in amateur baseball. It is in the best interest of these institutions for it all to continue as it is now and progress further. When everything a kid sees online is some marketing campaign to sign up for the next “showcase” or “elite tournament” while they see those drafted and upcoming draft prospects as the marketing angle, what else do we expect? PE ain’t gonna take the hit to the bottom line. Which means more marketing, less oversight, and far more coaches and even orgs… chasing a follow or a repost. That is the crux. Behavior cleans up when poor character is not incentivized. When amateur baseball is a corporation spearheaded by PE, any control over “standards” is not worth the time trying to solve. We must first solve for the source of the issues.

Stay the course, do more of this. The hitting world needs some truth. It’s ball striking, lotta ways to do it but, there’s always constants in any high performers.

As if anyone cared but…. I believe in all the things @DrivelineBB @108_Performance @shegone03 @Teacherman1986 claim to be truth in hitting. It all works. Depends on the guy. Lots to unpack there but, should probably be a journal entry. What would be so rad is if there was an actual podcast where all of you could go long form all together. See who stands out, who has good ideas, who has lots of facts… Match it against the degrees of rotation against the applied force in a time domain. Then measure the effectiveness against outcome metrics hand, bat, ball… Done deal.

It shouldn’t be a crazy proposition to suggest that maybe we need to rethink letting profiteers dictate the future of our amateur baseball players across the country. Many argue, very few actually understand that those running tournaments and scouting services don’t actually have your best interests at heart.

If the last 5 years of my life have taught me anything it’s that the biggest obstacle to getting kids on a path of skill & athletic development is their parents.

The hardest part of coaching youth travel ball is proving a different mission statement than the current system in place of heavy tournament focus year round. Parents need to start realizing that arm injuries in high school come about because of overuse in earlier years.

Like, broke down all the data and found anomalies you could exploit based on their propensity for movement? What, exactly, did you study?
