Each time I travel to Italy, I wonder about the massive economic gap. Why is the North one of the wealthiest areas in Europe, while the South remains so extremely poor? Isn’t it the same country, with the same language, culture, taxes, and laws? Can someone please explain?

We can all see in the video that anything resembling an emergency lane like this is now filled with cars. On/off ramps are predictable and people can easily open up passage whereas here if your lane is blocked you either 1) have to cross through the center lane in order to go around the blockage, waiting in the center lane the whole time it takes for someone to let you in, or 2) you have to just watch all the people in the moving lane get to where they're going while your lane doesn't move.

In Germany and Austria, traffic law requires drivers to form a Rettungsgasse (emergency lane) when traffic stops, creating a clear path for ambulances, fire trucks, and police.

As he was heading to his car, a couple was persistently trying to purchase it from him for $100. They more than likely were the original owners, trying to get there few hundred bucks back.
